In the middle of October it was very quiet at the campground based in a forest, apart from restrooms and water tap, basic as everyone. During the day is was warm and clear but at night it was freezing -5 degrees celsius. Busstop to trailheads...More

Okay, just got back from my first trip to Bryce (October 20-22, 2016). No reservations and when we got there around 9, there were tons of available sites...we visited North Campground first and then settled on Sunset because the sites were less sloped. I don't...More

I tent camped at Sunset Campground at the end of August solo, and felt perfectly safe as a single traveler. It was very convenient to be able to reserve a spot in advance because I was arriving in the early evening. It was perfect camping...More

We struggled to find availability for this campsite and after staying we realised why – it was fabulous! We only regret we couldn’t stay more than 2 nights. The campsite was managed wonderfully – we received all the relevant information so it was easy to...More

Michelle S
I'm planning a trip to Grand Canyon, Bryce Canyon and Zion in July. This is a road trip from Florida and my family's first time out West. I'm trying to book all our accommodations for the trip and am feeling pretty frustrated about the lack of sites available for reservation online. I'm one day from the opening of the reservation window for my desired date and all sites are already booked. I've read that you need to arrive early (by 8?) to secure a "first come" spot especially on the weekend. We are planning to drive up from the Grand Canyon on Saturday, July 15th so I don't see us making it there by 8 or any time before noon to secure a spot for ourselves. I'm hoping someone familiar with the campgrounds in the area can offer a little guidance here. I've considered leaving GC late on the 14th and staying overnight in a hotel near Bryce Canyon so we can get into the park early enough to get a camping spot. Am I needlessly worrying about this or will it be necessary to take this step?
