It was tough to make reservations, had to call back when the person wasn't at lunch. This happened when I stayed there previously, and then they still screwed it up. This time it was correct. Grouchy desk people made it a pain to check in and check out. Apparently it blows their mind if the husband and wife have different... More

We camped with a tent at Fiddlers Campground in Furnace Creek. They gave us site #2 but when we got to the campground, there was a stage put up there. We went back to the office and she seemed bewildered and finally said we could camp anywhere. We went back and found a great site at the back of campground... More

This hotel is basic but is fascinating with old original stables and a ranch. Towels, toiletries and iron included. Beautifully situated in the heart of Death Valley.... It was clean and the bedsheets were of okay quality. Staff were always happy and pleased to see you.

We arrived at the RV Park and I went to check in, only to be asked for ID. At no time during the previous 5 weeks had we been asked for ID at a site as we were part of an organised tour. While I had been in the reception area, my husband had been "ordered" to move the RV... More

When compared to the lodging at the Grand Canyon, which I think are like staying at a bunker, the rooms at Furnace Creek resort were much nicer. It was nice to have a balcony, but if I stayed again, I would ask for a room facing the outside. My room faced another building so my view was limited to people... More

Strange place overall, halfway between a motel and a holiday camp. No safe in the room, limited dining options, including a 'steakhouse' doubling as the breakfast buffet but with booth seating held together by copious amounts of duct tape. Owned by the same chain (Xanterra) as El Tovar at the Grand Canyon. These people need to reinvest some of their... More

RV park and its amenities were all very good. Shower block was a bit of a trek away from the RVs though. Great location for Death Valley sights and views from RV park and pool were stunning. Felt a bit mislead by the website - Don't think that the lodge is close by, it is quite a distance across the... More

A few friends and I were on a road trip and we decided last minute to drive through Death Valley. We stayed in the hotel area, it was not much but the surroundings were what we came for. A bit pricey but again we were in the middle of nowhere, we didn't have too many options that were financially viable.... More

The right camp sights at the NP camp ground have some shading and wind protection from small trees. They also create some privacy from your neighbors who will be fairly close. The wash basins by the restrooms are about the best I have seen. The visitors center is walking distance and nice. Swimming pool and showers for $5 per half... More
