If there is ever a place that can't be described in words or photos, Wonder Lake is it. If you have it in you to visit, the experience is one that will surely be talked about as epic, legendary, unbelievable, magical, wild, crazy, and yes, challenging. My girlfriend and I drove up from Anchorage and camped a night two nights...

The camper bus trip up to the campground (5.5 hours) is actually pretty great and they take a sufficient (almost too many) number of stops to stretch your legs, take in the views, and relieve yourself. The campground is amazing as well with awesome views of McKinley (on a clear day, which we got on arrival, but was completely covered...

We stayed 3 nights at Wonder lake campground. The statistics say that you are likely to see Denali for only 4 days in June, but we saw it three days in a row. If you take a tour bus out to the visitor station you might have 2 hours to see Denali, but camping there for 3 days gave us...

This campground has beautiful views of Mt. McKinley. We were able to set up our tent so that we were looking right at Mt. McKinley. It was so peaceful and relaxing. They have plenty of storage for food in the bear proof rooms. One thing to know is that mosquito nets will definitely be needed certain times of the year....

We stayed two nights at this camp ground and it was extremely peaceful and serene. Ours was campsite 17 facing the great one. Felt like a dream to camp beneath Mt. McKinley by the blueberry shrubs and wonderlake! :) The hostess (Dana) is very nice and helpful and the ranger gave a very fun and informative talk about sounds in...

This place is heavenly - even if the mountain does not come out. If you go in August, you'll avoid the mosquitoes that plague the area earlier in the year and also be surrounded by delicious wild blueberries. Try to take the first bus out there in the morning to get the best camping spots (mountain facing). There's a very...

This campground was awesome, first the rangers around were really friendly. The campground are well located (right front Denali mountain), the food lockers and restrooms were clean. Nice hike on the bar trail and incredible pictures of clear Denali when you wake up... Just a dream! That makes me forget about the mosquitos that i have to admit are agressive...

We camped at Wonder Lake for 1 night on June 21, 2013. As advertised, the views of Denali are as good as you can get without an airplane - and the mosquitoes are intense! We knew that going in so were prepared with head nets (don't even think of going there without one), insect repellant & repellant clothing. Most people...

Nice camping to spend the night before hiking or checking out other areas of the park. Has restrooms and bear-proof food storage. Depending on how far you walk, lots can be quite private. Offers a great view of McKinley and also is close to Mirror Pond which is absolutely picture-perfect.
