Built in 1933, Swiftcurrent Motor Inn is located one mile from Many Glacier Hotel and is a hiker's paradise with trailheads for many of Glacier's most spectacular hikes right outside its doors. In addition to 95 cabins and motor inn rooms, you will find 'Nell's restaurant, fully stocked campstore/gift shop, and numerous activities at this picturesque location. Swiftcurrent Motor Inn consists of rooms divided between three individual buildings with outside access. Pinetop Motel rooms are located in one long building and are accessed by a central hallway. Duplex style cabins are arranged in circles and available with or without a private bathroom. A shower room is conveniently located nearby. Cabins without a private bath do have a private sink with cold running water. A limited number of ADA-accessible rooms are available and are booked based on space available.

Found out we had a problem in our bathroom when we went to use the shower on our first night there. There was over 3" of standing water in the shower that didn't drain. It was late at night. The office was closed but you could call for help. Someone did come and we got a different room . . . but . . . changing rooms at 10 p.m. when you are booked on the early morning hiker shuttle for Grinnell Glacier Trail was not ideal timing.
Second room had no issues but the hotel did absolutely nothing for the inconvenience. How could their cleaning people, not see the standing water when they cleaned the bathroom--obviously, they didn't clean the room and their cleaning methods are substandard!

They give you a wifi code you can use in the lobby, but it doesn't work. Multiple people in the lobby could not log on to wifi. If you stay here, check your shower when you check in. Switching rooms late at night, isn't fun. Only thing that is good is the location. It is close to many hiking trails.

Absolutely LOVE this place as a base for hiking! However, they changed the menu and restaurant set up, and it is AWFUL! Who wants to hike to come down and eat a sandwich, when that's what you just got done eating all day? And to stand at the desk and order like a fast food restaurant, and have to go back in line for anything you want to order additionally, is just ridiculous. We used to look forward to eating here, but not anymore. Really took something away from this location, and its back country feel. Heard many people with the same complaints. I hope they are listening to everyone, and return back to the previous set up and menu!!!

This review is complicated. In terms of the actual rooms, the size of the beds, and the amenities compared to a typical hotel, the rooms are 3 star at best. So why did I give it 5 stars. Well, first off, this is a historic 50s ever lodge built at a time when motor lodge rooms were simpler and they intentionally kept it that way while offering niceties (good bedding, toiletries, fans, etc.
The location is 6 stars if you want to enjoy Glacier NP. It's right by great trailheads. It's tucked away from a lot of the noise and commotion and it feels peaceful and belongs in nature. I enjoyed it more than I would have enjoyed Many Glacier Hotel.
You have everything you need at Swiftcurrent and none of the excess. If you love to hike, try to book here. It's perfect.

Basic 2 star hotel in a great location. We stayed in one of the hotel/lodges. Overall, it is an older establishment, but was pretty clean knowing the volume of people and types of activities you do when visiting the area. Could use some minor updates and new top bedding, and a small couch in the hotel rooms would be great, but the location couldn’t be better.

Next time we will rent one of the cabins instead of the hotel room. Overall we were pleased and would stay here again. Check in was great and everyone was nice.

If you read this give it a thumbs up.

My wife and I were here only one night, we had a room with two full size beds and a small bathroom. The room was basic and clean. With hiking all day all we needed was a comfortable bed and a place to shower and this met those needs. Only wish we had 2 or 3 nights here. There is no air conditioning but with the window open it was comfortable.

The Swiftcurrent Motor Inn at Many Glacier is a high quality motel - very traditional, harkens back to an earlier age of travel. There are no TV's or WiFi, just well-built and nicely appointed rooms in an absolutely gorgeous location. There are three trailheads there at Many Glacier, offering truly world class mountain hikes. The camping, outdoor lovers, family atmosphere of the place makes for a wonderful vacation spot.

My wife and I stayed at Many Glacier Hotel while the rest of our family stayed at Swiftcurrent motor inn. The rooms at Swiftcurrent were very clean and located in nice shaded areas where it was comfortable to sit outside. Since we were only in the room in the evening, I would choose this over Many Glacier based on cost and closeness to several nice trails. I highly recommend this and Village inn at Apgar. Also stayed one night at Rising Sun which was much more “rustic” (meaning small spartan rooms with no porch or place to sit outside)

I'm glad I read reviews about the rooms so I knew what to expect. Small basic room (Pine Top Motel). Bed comfy. Bathroom and shower dated and tiny. Window in room could use replacing, wood in sad condition. Stayed the last 2 nights of their season. BUT you can't beat the location! Was lucky to snag these 2 nights when I did. Was able to use the wifi in the Swiftcurrent lobby but also in the Many Glacier Hotel public areas with much more room to spread out.

Excellent place to stay. We had the motel room with a queen bed and bath. We had an end room, you take 3 steps from the door and you are in the woods. No grass just woods, it's kinda scary at night because of the bears roaming the area. At this location there is no internet, tv or cell phone coverage, just a comfortable bed and a nice clean bathroom. They provide coffee and tea in the room. We ate at the restaurant there and used the internet to text. This is a perfect place to stay for hikes to Grinnell Glacier trail, Lake Josephine boat rides and enjoying the many views of the mountains in the area. There are bears in the area, you will need bear spray and bells.

This was our favorite lodging during our recent (late June) stay at Glacier (we also stayed at Rising Sun and Village Inn). We stayed two nights, and wish we'd had three since it's such a beautiful part of the park. The buildings are set among some aspen trees. We had a motel room with two beds and they were really comfortable. The room and bathroom were both clean, and had everything we needed, including a box fan. Staff was friendly and helpful. The only downside is that the doors are noisy when they close, unless you close them gently. Unfortunately, we had neighbors on one side who slammed their door each and every time they went in and out. Swiftcurrent is also near the Many Glacier hotel, and you can drive over there and sit in the lodge or outside and enjoy the view. The restaurant at Swiftcurrent was just adequate, which is about par for the course when dining at the national parks.
