My husband and I made reservations to visit the Grand Canyon North Rim for 4 nights at the last minute, so essentially we took other peoples' cancellations. We had a different room or cabin every night but felt lucky to get anything. The front desk staff was extremely helpful and managed to get us in the same cabin for two...

My friend and I stayed there for one night at the end of May. We stayed in the older log cabins, which were small, cramped, poorly lit (no reading lamps) and rather dusty. The windows had cobwebs. Our friends stayed in a newer room, which was similarly priced, and was modern, spacious and had a refrigerator! I do have to...

Stayed at the motel which, I am gathering, is better than the cabins ( and cheaper). Our room was fine and had a refrigerator as well as a coffee pot. Did not expect to have either a TV or Wifi so not disappointed there. Lighting was poor though. Regarding the restaurant, we soon learned if you hung around you would...

The North Rim is far off the beaten path and one of my favorite places! There are few accommodation options when visiting the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, - the on-site Lodge, the Kaibab Lodge - 20 miles away, or Jacobs Lake Inn - 40 miles away. This was my first visit where I was actually able to stay...

We stayed in cabin 6 and it was a very pleasant experience. I thought I was living in the tundra on a cold winter's night. Despite the cold, the cabin's bathroom and bedroom have very good heating devices that kept us warm. The service at the lodge is excellent (super excellent) throughout and the lodge is very attractive and clean....

Tucked away literally on the rim of the Grand Canyon the Grand Canyon Lodge mixes sophisticated eating with cabins echoing of the camps of our childhood with wood cabins, log furniture and cabin interiors. Washrooms are modern and all accommodations come with power outlets. The Lodge House comes with fantastic sitting areas outside and in to look over 20 miles...

We stayed at the North Rim in May, 2014. Post R2R hike!! We were in cabin 82--there were 4 adults. The cabin was small but cozy, cute, and clean!! Again, the pillows weren't top notch and the beds weren't the most comfortable, but aftering hiking 12+ hours, it did the job!!! The bathroom was horribly small!! The majority of us...

Quieter than the busy South Rim lodges, the North Rim is a nice getaway. Rooms are actually spacious clean cabins, the lodge itself is clean, beautiful, and well managed. The restaurants are much better than on the South Rim (different operator). It is lo tech though: no TV, no wifi except at the general store 2 miles down the road...

We spent three nights in a Pioneer Cabin at the North Rim Lodge. The views and access to the North Rim were superb! The ranger led programs are conducted outside on the terrace, and everything's within walking distance - Visitors Center, Gift Shop, Saloon, Deli, and many overlook points along the canyon rim. The room and bathroom were tiny and...

One of the worst places we ever stayed overnight. Unfortunately the Lodge is the only option. The room we ended up with was in what they refer to as the motel. No TV, no wifi, no AC, no cell signal...and the bathroom was the smallest I have ever seen. Then to top it off the room was not well cleaned....

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The more remote North Rim offers up its beauty and solitude to those willing to make a little longer trek to cooler temperatures and greener vegetation of the Grand Canyon's less visited rim. Time means little here in this Nirvana for nature lovers…abundant forest beauty and wrap-around scenic splendor as sheer walls hold in the Colorado River a mile below. The only developed lodging within the National Park’s North Rim boundaries this historic treasure has cabins and lodging tucked into the trees and dotting the canyon edge. The historic dining room with wall to ceiling windows gives diners the unique opportunity to take in the Canyon's views and tasteful regional and sustainable delights for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Reservations are recommended. For guests seeking a unique remembrance of their visit to this special place, there is a gift store and convenience store located at the North Rim. Authentic Native American handcrafts, jewelry and merchandise that is U.S.A. made by local and regional artists provide an array of gift items for guests to the Grand Canyon. Smell the pines, listen to the fluttering leaves of quaking aspen, and keep an eye out for a California condor, the largest bird in North America. The North Rim of the Grand Canyon is only open from mid May to mid October. ... more   less
