Even though the lodge exterior looks dated the room and bathroom have been updated. I would compare it to a 3 1/2 star hotel. I wish the building required guest card access to enter, but we did not have any issues with any unwanted visitors....More

Location is right on the rim making experiencing sunset and sunrise easy as well as dining in the El Tovar or Bright Angel restaurants - both recommended. Room is clean and refurbished but in a traditional style. Would definitely stay again!

Our room had air conditioning.. I do remember the hallways being a little stuffy. Maybe there was no air conditioning in the hallways.

It seems like they did along time ago because there is a very old pic of one on their site but that is nowhere mentioned by visitors or the site as an amenity.
