This place is running on lowest common denominator. There is no competition to Xanterra so they only need do the minimum. There is no obvious spend on ground maintenance, and at the North lodge where we stayed in August, no picnic benches and no cleaning of common parts. The restaurant options are limited, with no differentiation and the same tables...

I was very excited to be staying in the Grand Canyon village for a night but unfortunately the experience left a sour taste in my mouth. The room is a bit like the staff at Maswik Lodge - old, tired and miserable. Now when I say old I do not mean it in a agist way. I mean that some...

We decided to visit Grand Canyon a little late, so nothing was available when I was searching for the accommodation in Grand Canyon Village. Luckily enough, I could get Maswik Lodge in South for two nights in row by separate reservation, and the front desk was nice enough to put us in the same room. It is located quite conveniently...

Can't beat the experience of hanging out at the South Rim of Grand Canyon. The accommodations are rustic, but the staff was helpful and being at the South Rim is amazing. Worth the price to be at the Grand Canyon.

By luck of a cancellation, we were able to get a room at the Maswik, which is located conveniently in the park a few minutes walk to the rim. This is a no-frills, basic motel style accommodation. It reminded my wife of summer camp as a kid. We were fortunate enough to be on the north side with an air-conditioned...

It is hard to find somewhere to stay in the Grand Canyon Village that is affordable and near enough to the rim to walk. p both mornings for the sunrise over the Canyon so hardly spent anytime in the room. Maswik Lodge is in a great place. It is 'rustic' so expect basic and reasonably clean - but can you...

We got an air-conditioned room and it was very nice. It was located in Pinyon Pine unit and it was exactly what I expected. It was a rustic room with what seemed to be an updated bathroom. The room was convenient to the cafeteria and to the rim of the Grand Canyon. Awesome location! Easy walk! We were glad we...

We stayed here for 2 nights in July 2014 while visiting the Grand Canyon. We had a family room in the North section for a couple and 2 children which was clean and had air conditioning. The South section has no air conditioning. The room was some distance from the main lobby and reception area. We had breakfast there in...

I intially booked a rustic cabin, thinking it would be fine for just one night to sleep in the Grand Canyon, not thinking about the heat and the want for AC after 3 days in Las Vegas and driving for what seemed like forever and a long day so I was able to upgrade for double the price. But the...

I was pleasantly surprised by the location and the room. Based on some of the reviews I had read, I was concerned about staying here; however, other family members wanted to stay inside the National Park. We had stayed in Tusayan previously, and found it over-priced. Everything at the hotel was basic, but clean and neat. Parking the car, and...
