This was the only place left we could find a room, being high season. Rooms are basic, but serviceable. The location is the key here. Staying in the village on the south rim is excellent. Rates are high, but you are in a tourist precinct. Staff are ok, food is cafeteria style so nothing special. It will do the job.

Shared a room with a friend for 4 nights. The room was large and comfortable, with ample closet space and a small safe. The sink/dressing area were also large and we never felt cramped. We were on the second floor and enjoyed leaving the windows open. Never needed the a/c. The fridge froze everything solid! There was no way to...

I reserved this one about a year before the travel - and already the selection was small. The lodges by the rim was already full. Maswik Lodge is old and nothing fancy or pretty but around $130 per night for 4 people less than 10 min. walk away from rim is not bad deal. The room had 2 queen beds...

We recently spent 2 nights here, in a 2nd floor double queen with airconditioning. We were lucky to be put in Aspen building which is about the closest to the main lodge, which looking at other reviews probably made a big difference. The 2nd floor rooms have vaulted ceilings and a ceiling fan. The room itself was fine - just...

We made a 'game-time' change in our hotel plans and were very pleased to secure a room at Maswik Lodge recently. This allowed us to get an early start on our Grand Canyon Bright Angel hike to Indian Gardens in the morning. The lodge is set a bit back from the South Rim and is a short walk to Maswik...

We stayed in one of the hotel-style rooms at the Maswik Lodge (as opposed to one of the cabins). In terms of National Park lodging, the Maswik seemed to be pretty par for the course. We don't expect 5-star lodging when visiting National Parks, and this stay was no different. The room was basic, but clean, spacious and well appointed....

Good place to stay. It's little dark, but was manageable. Staff was very good, quite impressive. Cafe and food was excellent, lot of options and good quality. Only problem, soap and lotions are not good quality, and towels are used with heavy chemicals, suggest travelers to carry own towels and soaps.

We stayed in this Lodge for 4 nights while visiting our son who works at "The Canyon." The room was comfortable, the bed just right, the bathroom clean and laid out well. The air conditioner-heater was very noisy, and hard to figure out how to work. Our room looked out over the tracks and was only 50 yards or so...

Stayed one night. The room is very basic and a bit dated. It was clean and the bathroom was the nicest part. Wasn't the most comfortable bed but for the night and the location can't go wrong. We didn't eat at the cafeteria closest to the lodge instead went to the other section and had dinner at one of the...

Maswik is a five-minute walk to the South Rim and the price is reasonable. The rooms are old-fashioned but clean, and the beds are comfy. There's a fridge and a Mr Coffee, so make your own breakfast. The food at Maswik is mediocre. We very much enjoyed our meals at Bright Angel Lodge and next time would try very hard...
