I love it here! So much beauty and solitude. My only complaint would be that the campsites are too close together. Otherwise everything is wonderful! The temperature there last week was 39-40 degrees at night with 25-35 mph winds. It was raining leaves and it...More

After almost going there for 10 years I never get tied of the place. Grounds were clean, nice host but the only ranger was the one that rides through just before dark. NFS just doesn't want to keep one there and that is a shame....More

I camped solo late July. Spot #7 was perfect for tent only. First come first serve. $14 a night. Pay in envelope. Friendly on site host. Quiet campground at the end of Balsam Mountain Road. Flush toilets and sinks. No showers. Bring your bike! Only...More

We are raising two of our grandsons and had not been camping for the three years they've been living with us. So this sounded like a good place to start. We just had a pop-up camper and not a lot of money. It was a...More

No showers in the park. You can go outside of the park and rent showers.

Hi, I'm planning to camp here for the 4th July long weekend (arrive Friday, Jul 3rd and depart Sunday, Jul 5th) driving up from Atlanta, GA. The NPS website lists the tent sites as first come, first serve. Any idea on how busy this site gets and if there are any "overflow" areas if the designated sites are all booked? I would hate to drive all the way up only to find out that there are no sites to pitch my tent. Also, regarding campground facilities, the NPS website lists toilets and cold showers available. Can anyone else please confirm this?
