I assume what you mean by, “most attractions”, are sights in the National Park. If so, then yes, you can accomplish what you want to do in three days, but you’ll have to precisely plan your itinerary. If you intend to see other sights in and around Hilo, and by seeing them, I mean to stop your vehicle and walk around them, then you’d better plan a follow-up trip.
We spent 7 days in July on the big island, and it wasn’t enough. And, we had very full days.
