The hotel is 2 to 3 star. Rooms are decent. Bathroom is small. Two resturant choices. Food is good but view is the best. Good and friendly staff. Must stay here. No tv. Wifi is good. Older bldg. Free bikes.

On our second to last evening on the Big Island, we went up to Volcano National Park to watch what happens at dusk and thereafter. It was a real treat to get front row seats from our table at the Volcano House Restaurant. (Get your reservations early). Our waiter was very attentive and deeply versed on the preparations for each...

Aloha TJ and mahalo for your review. We're so happy to hear that you and your wife joined us for dinner, and enjoyed experiencing the crater at night—you're absolutely right, the view is priceless. We're also glad to learn that your server was attentive and excellent recommendations. Thank you again, and we hope to see you again soon!

We arrived at this hotel late after doing the bike and hike tour of the volcano fields about an hour outside of Volcano Park. We were exhausted and hungry. After a lovely welcome by the staff, they served us a complimentary momosa drink, and went to the kitchen (which was closed) to rustle us up some grub. They were so...

After a long day of exploring the park, Volcano House is a great place to relax and enjoy a drink or have a leisurely dinner. The view of the caldera is spectacular by day, but even more breathtaking after dark. We had dinner by the glow. And the meal was fabulous. I had stuffed chicken. My husband had steak. Both...

We stayed at volcano house for two nights and ate at both restaurants - the view is perfect and it's lovely to be able to watch the volcano and enjoy a few glasses of wine at the same time It's quite expensive like a lot of places we have found in Hawaii - but it's great to have the views...

We had great service an incredible view of the caldera of Kiliuea. The food was delicious, macadamia crusted fish and chips. My daughter had a volcano slide drink and loved it. Locally sourced menu, truly wonderful.

It was late and we were leaving to travel back to Kona when we decided to try our luck for dinner at Volcano house. The waitress told us we had exactly 9 minutes until the kitchen closed then took five of them to make up our table. She told us she was tired, having started work at 6am and was...

We went on a rainy day. It was a great place to stop in after being at the museum and seeing the lava bubbling in the crater. It allowed us to warm up and have a nice view. The food was good... not spectacular. Lots of history associated with this location like the fact that the owner used to offer...

The actual building has been updated, but is still a little basic. But the friendly and helpful service from EVERYONE (from front desk to waitresses in restaurant to bartenders) more than made up for rooms. Beds were comfy, but rooms were small. No TVs except in bar, but who needs TV when you have a volcano to watch?? There are...

I loved our stay at Volcano House and the National Park. I'd return to the Big Island just to stay at Volcano House and to visit this Park again with my family. The rooms have some slight quirks, but they are clean and the bathrooms are updated and nice. The lobby area with the iconic view of the smoking volcano...
