Our crater view room had exactly that. It was like an oceanfront room. Worth paying up for! Beds were very good even though hotel is dated. Bathroom was clean and functional. No a/c. Windows opened but we were still a bit hot most of the night. Very important: this hotel is the only place to eat in the park, so...

On our second to last evening on the Big Island, we went up to Volcano National Park to watch what happens at dusk and thereafter. It was a real treat to get front row seats from our table at the Volcano House Restaurant. (Get your reservations early). Our waiter was very attentive and deeply versed on the preparations for each...

Aloha TJ and mahalo for your review. We're so happy to hear that you and your wife joined us for dinner, and enjoyed experiencing the crater at night—you're absolutely right, the view is priceless. We're also glad to learn that your server was attentive and excellent recommendations. Thank you again, and we hope to see you again soon!

The hotel is situated literally opposite the Volcano National Park visitor centre so easy to find. It does exactly what it says.... offers a fabulous views of the Crater!! When the light fades the orange glow appears in the distance and you can sit in the Lounge or your Bedroom, if like us you had a crater view room and...

Food was great. The view was even better. Check what time sunset is, and make a reservation by the window!!! Completely worth the price. We also had live music along with dinner. Cocktails and wine list were excellent. Get the crab cakes and volcano salad!

Wow, totally impressed with our two-night stay in at the Volcano House Hotel in August 2016! Even with the approach of Hurricane Madeline the entire hotel staff was personable and attentive. Upon check-in, we were greeted with mimosas and a glowing fire burning in the fireplace of their cozy lobby! Selected a crater view room on the second floor and...

We stayed here last month and reserved ,or so we were told ,room 11 for our visit tonight. They did not honor it. Instead we were given a room much further away with out the great view and told this is what you get! Not worth the price!

Aloha and thank you for reviewing your recent stay. While we do our very best to accommodate all lodging requests, we cannot guarantee that requested rooms will be available. We are sorry that the room you requested was not available when you arrived, and are sad to learn that your view was less exciting than you had hoped. We appreciate...

We stayed here for one night. Volcano House is the only one in the park. If we did another overnight visit to Volcano National Park, we'd stay at a more reasonably priced hotel close to the park. The hotel's draw is its nighttime view of Kilauea. However, you can get this nighttime view from the Volcano House Restaurant or from...

This hotel is unique - while pricey for the accommodations it is the only hotel that will give you a night-time view of the glowing Halemaumau erruption. We have stayed at this hotel many times over the past 40 years and it remains not that much changed, though the recent improvements to the plumbing helps with more consistent hot showers...

The location being inside the volcano park is unbeatable so it is a must-stay. But if you want a view of the volcano book the second floor rooms as those on the first may be obstructed by either people walking by or trees. Also, the windows are very drafty and even in the dining areas, you may be freezing if...

I can still feel the sun on my face from sitting on one of the Adirondack chairs outside my first floor room partially overlooking the caldera. Our room was very rustic and basic, really more of a State Park accommodation than a luxury hotel - the bed creaked, the walls were very thin so you could see and hear hikers...
