We stayed 2 nights here with my wife and 9 and 8yo. Amazing. As wonderful as the volcano park was, the location of hotel, the incredible food at the restaurants were, and history of place has, the reason I would go back is because of the people. The staff right from the check in people, managers, cleaning staff to restaurants...

We love to stop in at the volcano house for a sunset dinner as we visit the national park. The views are amazing. The food is always great and the staff very plesant. The warm fireplace is always blazing and is a nice greeting from the cold rainy volcano weather. I love getting to see halemaumau crater the entire time...

Yes the walls are thin and the windows are old but the location and staff more than make up for that. We arrived when it was very foggy so there was no view of the caldera so we left for dinner with some friends in Hilo. Just before we came back, we saw a red glow in the skies. We...

We have visited Kilauea Volcano on several occasions during the day, but wanted to spend the night so we could see the glow from the crater. We were not disappointed! The hotel was updated a few years ago, and while it still looks and feels like a 1941 hotel, it is clean, the staff is very friendly and helpful, and...

We ate here twice for lunch. First time was fine. Expensive for what it was (fish and chips). Second time was awful. Had to wait ages for our food and when it arrived it was cold. There wasn't a lot of it either given the cost. They asked if we wanted a sweet to make up for the poor meal...

We recently stayed here for 2 nights and our stay was very good. Our room was very clean and our bed was comfortable. Yes it is a bit expensive but it's supply and demand and you are in a national park overlooking an active volcano. We ate in both restaurants during our stay and both were very nice. All staff...

OK.... it is a 70 plus year old hotel that over looks an active volcano... The trails are at the hotel...... I cannot understand negative comments...this is not a five star hotel in Kona on a beach.... All of this given.....the rooms are very clean and comfortable, the staff over the top in customer service (6:30 pm hot cookie service...

The scenery is beautiful, but the hotel is not. We stayed 3 days and nights and I could never turn the shower hot enough and the weather was cold and rainy. Brr! The walls are very thin and we heard every step of the people above us. The rooms are old and drafty and the towels are small and thin....

A visit to Volcano National Park was my main goal in Big Island. Therefore I had to stay in this hotel located in the Park to be immersed in this atmosphere and enjoy the wonderful view. And, I did. WOW. it is quite expensive but I deserved it. Dinner at the window seat was fantastic, as well as the lunch....

We stayed in a deluxe crater room. First the view is off to the left and the windows are absolutely filthy. You can only see the crater if you stand right next to the window. The floors are wonky and creak really really loudly whenever anyone walks across them. Even if the person tries to be quiet. The room door...
