We had a short but amazing stay At The Crater's Edge. We chose the Haiku Garden suite - wow. It really felt like we were perched on the edge of the rainforest with windows and a balcony all around. The rain put us to sleep each night and we took advantage of the hot tub, too! Loved the touch of... More

Had a lovely few days using this as our base to explore southern part of The Big Island. Found it easily in the dark with sat nav, Very well equipped room with lovely bathroom and pretty surroundings. Comfortable bed, good wifi signal. Lovely fresh fruit, cake and a well stocked cupboard of breakfasts, snacks and drinks. Coffee machine and microwave.... More

I'm going to start with a word of caution. No doubt most will be driving don't trust your satnav ours got us nearly there but not quite and the property isn't the easiest to find. If your arriving after dark and the mist is down youve got no chance so plan to arrive in daylight. From the main road (11)... More

Tucked away in Volcano, HI. Beautiful room tucked away with views of the rainforest. Very private and perfect for couples. We stayed 7 nights and our host Jason made sure everything in our room was restocked every other day. He doesn't make the bed or clean the room but that was just fine. He emptied they trash and restocked the... More

This place is very nice, and makes a great first impression. However after being there a few hours you notice that the shower leaks a little, the bathroom door doesn't really close and probably isn't very secure. The doors only lock from an electronic combination lock. A potential thief could just look at which numbers that are worn away and... More

Stayed for 3 nights. It was such a great location for the volcanos , but was also a great sanctuary of restfullness.Wasnt too bothered about the breakfast issue as we are not really breakfast people but have to comment that Jason's banana bread was the best ive ever tasted. The place is spotless and attention to detail beyond any hotel ive... More

Fantastic place. Great location close to the Volcano NP. The accommodation is surrounded by greenery so is quiet & private. You will need an eye mask to sleep beyond sunrise though as there are only net curtains. Not a traditional B&B as you're left alone & breakfast is a do-it-yourself affair as they don't have a commercial kitchen licence -... More

Based on other tripadvisor comments, we selected this B&B as a treat experience for our recent Hawaiian vacation. It wasn't a cheap location even by Hawaiian standards. We had stayed in B&B's countless times in locations across the continental US and in Europe so know what it takes to make a great B&B. This one failed - although our room... More

We are so sorry your stay was less than expected. As property owners we market in different venues and many are third party so we don't always have complete control of the information out there. When people book direct they get more explicit details and check in information. On our direct website www.visitthevolcano.com you will notice that we are not defining... More

Does the thought of a B&B appeal to you, but not the prospect of getting up at a certain time to sit and converse with other vacationers? This is the place for you. There are two rooms set in the deep forest of Volcano, Hi, just outside Volcano National Park (also a house currently occupied by the caretaker). It is... More

We stayed here for 2 nights as we explored the volcano. This secluded hotel was a great place to stay after the day at the volcano. It's not really a hotel, its just to rooms attached to a private home. The rooms are decent size, not very large, but certainly big enough for 2, I would not bring a family... More

“Although Haiku Garden and Nahelelani rooms are outfitted virtually identical, the Haiku Garden room is slightly more private as it faces away from the entrance / driveway, so others staying on property won't pass by your windows.”

“No pool. Just an amazing jacuzzi in a jungle setting.”

“the 2 back to back rooms we saw were either facing the entry or the hot tub. If you are alone on the property, the hottub location feels more private. Good info about the island and volcano park is provided, have dinner at the Volcano House and view the glowing crater in the dark afterwards, but try to get back in time to use the hottub.”
