This is the most beautiful place. I can only say we felt like family. Sheila and James were outstanding hosts. I cannot wait to go back there again. Everything about the place and the guides who took us out bear watching were outstanding. Food - well you will never get better

We were at the lodge on a photo trip. We definitely saw wildlife - bears (lots), wolves and fox. From the Lodge windows we saw all the above. We were there during the salmon run up the Silver Salmon Creek to Lake Clark. Standing onshore and on sandbars during low tide we watch

I was with a photo group and spent a week at the Alaska Homestead Lodge and it was simply fabulous. Beautiful rooms, location, great people and the food was outstanding. Our young guide Ken was terrific; Chef Annie outdid herself with the great food and the owners, James & Sheil

If you want to see Alaskan Brown Bears in their natural habitat while completely safe, then this is the trip for you. The lodge is very comfortable and the hosts, James and Sheila, make sure that you have everything you need. We only stayed two nights, but I could have easily sta

Hi, We are planning a trip next August. 2019. When would you suggest we book a room thanks Catherine Riley
Hi, how can i get in touch with this accommodation? They dont respond to email, the contact form on their site or on facebook :(
Well we had no issue with them responding to their own website. They were very prompt. I'm not into facebook so I have no idea if that works better or not.

i am considering a visit to the Alaska Homestead Lodge Sept 11 and 12 and wondered how late in Sept you visited as I am interested if that is too late in the season. I would appreciate any input you are willing to share.
We were there mid August. It tends to be rainy. They close around mid September.

Hello I want to come here either before or after a small ship cruise. So I am trying to coordinate the best time for the good bear sighting results. Thank you, Nancy
We did the full overnight trip. We arrived at noon and stayed until noon. We saw 4 bears (Mom and three cubs, & juvenile) in the afternoon, two at night on the beach. The next morning there was a 0 tide and we saw the remaining bears clamming on the beach. If you can be there during a low tide the bears come out to the beach. Guides are very accommodating to take you out when you want to go. We only had 4 in our group to 1 guide.
