My husband and I LOVE Ross Lake Resort. The lodging itself (modern cabin) is basic and dated, but is clean and has everything you need. The location, of course, it what makes this place amazing. It is truly spectacular.

They don't have a cafe or food store, they have a small gift shop with ice and a few incidentals. Everyone brings coolers with food and beverages. Cabins have all you need as far as cooking and bedding. Well worth the time... More

The place is NEVER available. They have been booked solid for years because they allow the people that come to have first dibs on reserving it for the following year. It's almost like a private club. Good luck getting in!
