Skyland is neither new nor luxurious. It is all abiut the mountains and valleys, and during this October visit about the color. The resort doesn't get in the way of Mother Nature, but supports the surroundings with comfortable but simple lodging and good food in a bright and airy setting.

Somewhat more rustic than anticipated. Good location for Skyline Drive and continuing onto Blue Rudge Pkwy. Restaurant was good for both dinner and breakfast. Simplistic accommodations. Lots of hiking opportunities.

Room was great with fantastic views. The food and service at the tap room was great and breakfast looking out over the mountains is the best. Everyone was so nice and very helpful during our stay. I can't wait to visit again next year!!

Beautiful fall foliage, sweeping panoramic views, fresh air, good food, good accommodations, nice people. Nearby Luray Caverns was interesting. I think a phone reservation would have been better for us since we had mobility issues.

We stayed at The Skyland Resort during our drive through Shenandoah National Park...on the Skyline Drive. We traveled during October 2015 and enjoyed the amazing FALL COLORS. The rooms offer beautiful views. We enjoyed dinner at the Restaurant with full-window-views of the valley and Autumn Colors. I'd recommend Skyland Resort to all travelers...Couples and Families. The Gift Shop has wonderful...

Although our room as very clean, it was indeed very rustic and basic. The two chairs were very uncomfortable and the bed was similar to sleeping on the floor. We could hear the people in the room above us sneeze. However, the hiking was great and the views from the overlooks were beautiful. There needs to be more dining options...

The rooms are newly renovated in Franklin however I missed having a view of the valley. The main bathroom is also renovated. Love the leisurely pace of the drive. You cannot go above 35mph so don't go if you are in a hurry. Go when you want to relax and enjoy the scenery. Saw wild turkeys, a black bear and...
