I was totally in awe when I first stayed at Adagio, Jinguashi back in Nov 2010. It was perfect. This time round, Nov 2016, I must say the standard has dropped much... 1) When we checked in at about 5.30pm, they asked us to choose a scent for our room. Out of 4 possible choices, we were told there were...

Extremely courteous staff and very thoughtfully done decor. The dinner is an exotic serving of 9 course meal. Loved the fact that you could choose the name of your room and also the fragrance of your toiletries and the room aroma. It's a great place to hide away in the mountains, far from the hustle and bustle of a city...

The Adagio B&B has, by far, been the best place I have stayed in my lifetime. Despite the rather rocky and dangerous drive (30 minutes away from Jiufen Street) , it is completely worth it. We were warmly welcomed into a clean and modern first floor, which contains an open dining room and lobby. Our hostess introduced us into the...

The adagio offers numerous things both tangible and intangible to delight you. The setting and the ambience are uniquely adagio, the stay and food are cozily comforting, and the service (管家秀秀 and team) is genuinely hearty. We love all our moments at the Adagio. Nothing thrilling, but definitely a heartfelt experience that was both gentle and soothing. Definitely befitting of...

This is my second stay in this B&B hideaway. I have come to be "familiar" with their ritual of checking in: selecting at random name of your room (a book with this theme will be in your room) and choosing the aroma you prefer (this will become the aroma of the set of toiletries you'll use during your stay). Room...

We stayed at the Adagio at 石梯坪 . Good service rendered by the staff and 管家秀秀 who helped us to make changes with our other accommodation arrangements. The room was spacious for the three of us and we could watch sunrise from our balcony. We love the verbena scent that we chose as the scent for our toiletries. Chinese breakfast...

My friends and I had such a good time there. The hotel was very homey and cozy. The theme if the hotel was to have people to "slow down" from our daily busy and stressful life. This is a great place for retreat. It was at the mountain side. Our room had balcony where you could see the village along...

I went with my hubby and our 5-year old little girl. The weather in Nov-Dec is rainy most of the time. In fact in Jin Gua Shi, it typically rains 200 out of 365 days. That did not deter us from venturing out after we seek advice from the Adagio 管家. For us, we reckon that a 4 nights stay...

The set up of this B&B features healthy breakfast, a cozy common lounge with book shelves full of different kinds of readings, and the accommodation situated in a mountain valley where one can get lots of peace and fresh air; but not so convenient with food or restaurants if one doesn't have a car... We arrived early, so the room's...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Adagio, is located nearby the beautiful town of Jioufen and the gold mining town of Jinguashi, you can enjoy visits to local sightseeing spots, sit back on the balcony to relax at dusk, or read one of the many books provided for vistors’ perusal. The bedrooms are large and each offers a touch of class with a very modern feel, while the French windows and balconies boast breath-taking views overlooking the picturesque valley and sea. The service at the Adagio is of a very high standard and the staff dedicates itself to ensuring that guests have as comfortable a stay as possible. As the title of the homestay suggests, the Adagio prides itself on its unique approach to relaxation and your stay there is very much about escaping the noises and demands of everyday life. The restaurant located on the first floor shares this same philosophy and encourages everyone to savor their meals slowly to inspire the sense of taste. The restaurant’s recipes are unique and the ingredients feature the freshest seasonal offerings possible. The Adagio is, indeed, a uniquely tranquil and peaceful home away from home where you can refresh your mind and store your spirit. ... more   less

“Dont bother about room. Jiufen has other hotels with good view. For Adagio, just go for the meal if you are nearby (Jiufen).”
