This is a very special place. We were greeted by Jose Manuel, who got us registered, and explained about the facility. It is decorated in a medieval style, with broadswords, armour clad displays, a beautiful dining area, etc. The room was very nice with a knight's shield on the wall. Beds were a good size and were comfortable. The shower was good too, not too small like some other hotels we stayed at. We were given a key to the front door which was kept locked all the time. Jose Manuel recommended that we go to visit the castle 6 km away. We did that and it was amazing, out in the middle of nowhere, high on a hill, cobblestone road to access. Breakfast was simple but good. We thought about staying a 2nd night but needed to get closer to Madrid. Loved the place. Plus, we got to don clothing like knights wore, and gowns for the ladies. It was silly but fun. More

Stayed here on a weekday, and were the only guests, which was a bit strange, but not the fault of the owners, who have converted what seems to have been an old warehouse into an original hotel that has obviously been loved and looked after, but is now feeling the pinch, as is most of inland Spain. However, the town itself was a bit disappointing, lunch was very normal in the restaurant we visited, and in the evening we tried in 2 establishments to eat cheese and ham, only to be told that they had none (Both had it advertised on the menu and we are in La Mancha, home of manchego cheese!!!). However, it's not far from Almagro, which was really pretty and worth seeing. More
