Chanced upon this country pub whilst on a days wandering in South Shropshire - Ludlow was full and we couldn't find a parking space. The weather was nice so we took lunch in the beer garden at the rear of the property. Beautiful view of the hill overlooking. What can I say - wonderful food (especially the home made profiteroles),...

We spent 3 nights at the Baron at Bucknell and ate in their restaurant each night. The bedroom (Number 4) was delightful with the most comfortable bed, stylish furnishings and a very nice en-suite. There was decent sized flat-screen TV and a docking station for an iPod etc on the alarm clock/radio so you could play your own music. Wi-fi...

Small but comfortable room with great shower. Exceptionally clean. Nice little extras such as water, biscuits and chocolate. As per usual in most sorts of accommodation the walls are too thin so one can hear everything going on next door. A very good breakfast, scrummy bacon. It was a shame we didn't stay for supper. All in all a very...

We stayed for three nights in room five, spotlessly clean, excellent views from the Juliet balcony, five star pub facilities. The breakfast is really good with lots of choices, as is the evening meals, highly recommend the belly pork. Phil and Debra own and operate the establishment with a very friendly unassuming total commintment, to provide the very best experience...

Four of us recently enjoyed a three day stay at the Baron. The accomodation and food are first class. We were made to feel very welcome by Phil, Debbie and their staff. We also enjoyed our chats with the local people who use the bar. Recommend a walk round the village, especially on Wednesday mornings when they serve tea and...

We stayed here on Saturday 13th Feb for 1 night. This Inn is in a lovely location in Shropshire with beautiful views. We were given a very warm welcome by the hosts and shown to our room after having a quick drink. The room we had was beautiful, large enough for two and decorated very tastefully. We had prebooked dinner...

Pretty faultless all round really. Everything about the place and the people was of a high order. Good attention to detail without being fussy and pretentious. Nice walks nearby albeit hilly. Really enjoyed my stay. Ideal for couples too.

We selected this hotel from a short list within striking distance of Ludlow for a 2 night weekend break with friends and our choice was a good one. Very welcoming informal bar area, good breakfasts and nice evening meal choices (see separate restaurant review). The service from Phil was unobtrusive and there to help if we needed anything, although the...

Thank you for your feedback. We are pleased you enjoyed your stay with us. The bar was very busy on the Saturday evening, but apologies for the ’dizzy’ bar lady. Our staff are normally more on the ball than that. You booked your rooms with us through our website and so enjoyed the £5 per room per night discount we...

We booked up at The Baron as we had previously eaten a very enjoyable meal there. The Baron did not fail with its accommodation either. Good sized room (no 5) which was well furnished and spotlessly clean. Delicious evening meal and breakfast served by very hospitable hosts. Great walking to be had in the Shropshire Hills either from the doorstep...

What a fantastic place to stay. The place is welcoming with a choice of traditional bar with a pool / snooker table and then the restaurant which is homely and spacious at the same time. The owners have a real eye for detail, this is evident in the bar and restaurant with a beautiful patio which has ample space for...
