Stayed 2 nights with family (total of 6 adults and 2 kids). Hotel has stunning views and the pools are amazing! Plenty of space in the gardens and sun beds. Outside the hotel, nice trails for walking embedded in the nature. Rooms were ok, clean and with big windows. On a down side, the amount of mosquitoes inside the rooms and no coffee maker. Breakfast was included, with lots of fresh baked items, altough it could have more variety of fruits and yogurts. Staff was friendly but communication was at some points inefficient (reservation for table for dinner time; towels for pool only distributed from 10am...). Overall a good hotel, would recommend.

The views are stunning and it was great being so close to a small town. The staff were lovely. The only problem was the lack of care for the small lizards that fell into the pool . Some of us were distressed to find so many that did not survived and spent a lot of time rescuing them from drowning. The management need to tackle the problem and respect the wildlife. They also need to replace the plastic straws and single use plastic butters etc.

We booked 2 rooms - 4 euro difference - for the same night - one through hotels.com the cheaper one - we got a lovely spacious room with more amenities on the fifth floor with outstanding view. That was the good thing but we were amazed and angry that the hotel charged our credit card in advance although I choose the possibility - pay later at the accommodation. I want to decide how to pay. Usually it works - not at this hotel. The other room was booked through booking.com - it turned out to be on the first floor ,which is at the bottom of the hotel. Half size small balcony, different quality - 2 lifts to get down. More about the hotel The hotel is located high on a hill outside Modim de Basto, and the surrounding landscape is beautiful. The architecture is suitable for the landscape - the rooms built on the hill slopes - the 5th floor is the highest . Very nice building and gardens , two swimming pools but not heated ( Although the reception said they were) No coffee making facilities in this room or the other. Towels – only 2 normal size and 2 tiny the size of a cleaning cloth. Thin Not as expected from a 4* hotel and also breakfast - on a lower standard than the 2 other 4* hotels we stayed at during our trip in north Portugal. We slept in the first floor room - the mattress was not hard - but that was the case in other accommodation we stayed at on our trip so maybe that is the standard.

We stayed 6 nights in this hotel early September and really enjoyed our stay. The hotel is on a beautiful location and not a very touristic or busy hotel. The staff was very friendly and the all inclusive program sufficient. We did however choose to eat in Porto a few times as well which we could really recommend too. The pools were both a bit cold and we think they are not heated. Water does not have to be too warm but to be relaxing a little warmer would have appreciated. We found it a bit disappointing that bottled water was not provided complimentary. From a 4 or 5 star hotel based on other bookings in other hotels especially is a warm country where you cannot consume tap water you may expect a daily bottle of water in your room. We recommend the management considering this to accommodate future guests. Should we come back to Portugal we will definitely consider this hotel for a few nights.

This hotel has fantastic pools and nice spa. The rooms are fine. The gardens are well design with lots of pool beds with fantastic views Negative points : restaurant is not recommended , loud music, Constant door of kitchen noise, and management very domestic, for a pension level not a 4 stars hotel Overall is a 4 stars but for dinner is a 1 Star
