Beautiful and stylish hotel in a charming village. We stayed here one night on our way to Bordeaux, arrived in the evening. Warm welcome by the host, tasty diner on the terrace next to the pool. Wonderful breakfast: no buffet but carefully assorted products.

Very surprising from the rooms' design to the amazing surprises at the restaurant: a cuisine entirely made with local products and very healthy taste.
A very cool place with a warm family style welcome and friendly service. A place to visit for sure or to come back to definitely.

We stayed overnight as part of wedding celebrations which had started in Cognac. The setting is an idyllic village on hillslopes - we took a walk after breakfast into the countryside and alongside the stream. The welcome was warm & the food : well one word: 'stunning!' We would go with the duck stew every time! We had our own area to dine in at a table and chairs; the area included a lounging area with a gorgeous gas fire, a library of books, a selection of board games including chess & backgammon, funky art on the walls and computers as well. The designer had certainly thought of everything! We had a family room which comprised of bedroom - biggest bed I've ever slept in - comfy too, bathroom, closet area and lounge area with TV which had a single bed and travel cot in (interconnecting door to the bedroom.) They make breakfast (continental) when you're ready for it (before midday). It's a hotel you won't forget!

The hotel sits quite neatly on a corner opposite a stern looking 12th Century church which sits at a jaunty angle to the adjacent hill. The hotel is the combination of five houses rather cleverly combined to make an interesting locking space.

When I arrived rather frazzled from a long day they looked after me before supper with a selection of cheeses, smiles and wine which was presented to me after I had settled to my room.

As for room selection I guess they are all fine, yet, if you are a little nervous of being woken at 5 am, then do not take room Danny (named after an American architect and sometime resident of the town) as the reverberating bells that chime like thunder from the church are definitely more effective than the alarm on my mobile phone!

The rooms are bright, clean and neatly furnished with good space to unwind. The food is excellent at breakfast or evening meal, a limited but rather delicious set of choices that you cannot fail to enjoy even you chose while blindfolded.

The setting is great, just around the corner from the Marie in a kind of mid-elevation in the village, lots of relaxing walks available to you, it may look deserted but in reality life is certainly here. It has been a long time since I heard a cuckoo so I was pleased to hear its loud and proud call, nature lives in abundance here.

I should think that this is a good centre for touring the area, Arcachon, Cognac, Bordeaux etc, for me it was work but I can see the potential for relaxation and touring.

We had a great stay here, actually just as a stop over on our way to Spain, but it deserves a longer visit. Some people say the hotel is expensive, but the superb, and very reasonable priced, restaurant makes up for that. We'll definitely come back!

One of the friendliest hotels we have experienced. Comfort and design with a very good cuisine. Children were welcome, indeed. Do not miss this hotel when visiting Saintes and Cognac.

On a two night return trip from Murcia to Calais this was a special treat for night 2. This hotel is one of the best I have ever stayed in ( I have been fortunate to travel a lot over the last 30 years & this hotel is 'top draw!')
Location wise - set in a very typical small French village, loads of history & short or long walks are a plenty, easy to find and near the main routes for North, South, East or West!
A family run business who understand the meaning of service, hospitality and detail. Whether it is fine wine or wi-fi access. Dinner was excellent followed by a glass of Cognac (after all it is in the region!) The hotel has a small swimming pool which was most welcome after 7 hours in the car & a temp of 37 degrees! We were the only people with a young child/adult (son of 12) the other guests were all couples; only 8 rooms available within the hotel - so book quickly! As I think you get the picture this hotel is a must for a stop over, romantic break, wine or Cognac lovers & those who enjoy hotel owners who are engaging in conversation and service orientated.
Would I stay again - 150% yes!
Our costs; Room €98 + €15 supplement for extra bed; Breakfast €12 per head. Dinner ranges from €25 3 courses or select adhoc. Wine ranges from €15 to €80+ & Cognac €12 per glass; may sound expensive but for the value of service, food & location it is a steal! (car parking is free opposite hotel)

This charming hotel, fit within an old stone house in the middle of a centuries old village is the perfect place to stay when visiting the Cognac region. The staff couldn't have been more accommodating and the facility is completely unique. I would highly recommend the restaurant. The dishes were presented in the most interesting way and were all delicious. I will return one day.

We stayed for three nights in this boutique hotel, the rooms are comfortable, though small. The staff is very nice and helpful. Dinner is cooked by the owner, Florence, who cooks wonderfull, we also had breakfast equally good. This hotel is located in a very small town , it seems like going back in time, ideal for a nice rest, but also located near enough places like Cognac , Saintes or La Rochelle to go for the day

Stylish hotel in pretty village but our attic room was cramped. At 100 euros both the ceiling and the price were steep! In addition, the shower room was only semi private with a glass wall.
Didn't eat in but pool and dining room looked nice. Owners friendly and helpful but we like more space.
