Myself partner and 2 children visited this pub for a drink yesterday. When I ordered drinks the chap behind the bar with his arms folded made a big sigh like as though I had ruined his afternoon nap. This pub was not child friendly what's so ever, we were constantly glared at by Uncle Fester behind the bar and at...

Me,my partner and 3 children went in to have a quiet drink as we were visiting the local area on a short holiday. The bar tender greeted us very rudely..the first thing he said to us was "don't let your kids run around..I don't do kids..I don't like them and I don't have any of my own". We felt very...

we've spent a couple of days at the anchor because we moved out of our house nearby and headed abroad. I think we couldn't find a better place to stay, debbie looked after us like a good friend or family member! it felt like we still were home :) we've never been somewhere else where you get so much value...

Have been walking pass this pub for months but never been in till today - Sunday lunch was excellent value for money and the service was fast efficient and very friendly. Great back ground music and nice surroundings. Bears The Crown in Manningtree hands down! Highly recommended.

I stayed at the Anchor Inn for a total of 5 nights. The attention and service from the staff made me feel very special. My room was great, very clean and quite comfortable. Breakfasts were huge, and I had to ask for a smaller version! I had the Sunday Lunch! It was marvellous! I would recommend the Inn to everyone!...

What a delightful room, spotless and well equipped, and a proper country pub that local people use. We were well looked after, staff went out of their way to be helpful, called taxis, supplied everything we needed and very good value for money. Breakfast was huge, and we couldn't eat it all. Only suggested improvement would be fresh squeezed orange...

Stayed here again recently and it was just as good as remembered. Pleasant spacious rooms, very clean and rustically furnished, our with an excellent view over the Stour Estuary. Friendly welcome and excellent service. Very good (and very large) freshly cooked traditional English breakfast, locally sourced where possible I think. Very good value.

The Anchor is a wonderful b&b, the rooms are large, very clean and bathroom is modern and also spotlessly clean. Tea tray with coffee, tea and shortbread cookies are a nice touch. Lush views from the windows are a preview of the beautiful surroundings. The promenade is adorable with ducks and swans a plenty make for a nice walk into...
