Happy to have stayed here. Friendly efficient staff, accommodation a little dated but all clean and fully functional. Surprised not to have found a safe in the room but perhaps I just never discovered it! There was a superb award winning chardonnay on the wine list!!

Perfect for fun times with the kids. Animals and water slides the highlights with friendly helpful hosts. Lieing outside looking up at the stars was great for the soul. Really good value. Don't miss out on the Karoo when in SA

First class accomodation with excellent breakfast and dinner. Plenty of room in the self catering cottage - we chose to dine in the well appointed restaurant. Excellent swimming pool on site. Lovely gardens in this working lemon farm. All staff friendly and attentive.

We stayed two nights, mainly to be close to Addo Elephant Park. De Old Drift is a very attractive site, and our unit was very comfortable and well kitted out. It was particularly lovely in the morning, when the varied birdsong was the only thing disturbing the stillness and peace.

A lovely setting near Addo elephant park main entrance. Very quiet and our cottage very private. Meals offered on site as there are very little options in the local area. Good breakfast. Nice swimming pool area. Take heed of the warning to bring whatever food you need with you, if you are self catering, as there is only a little...

We thoroughy enjoyed our stay, albeit too short. Accommodation and resturant was excellent. Staff were very friendly and most helpful. We should have planned to stay longer and fully explored the surrounding area. Addo is a beautiful part of the country. If my travels ever take me back to that part of the world again, I will definitely be staying...

My wife, son, and I had a great stay at De Olde Drift. The room was clean, spacious, and comfortable. The staff was very accommodating, and were happy to give us many tips about the area, especially the Addo Elephant park, which is near by. The breakfasts, lunches, and dinners were absolutely fantastic, as was the wine selection. Out "neighbors"...

What an amazing place to stay. The service was excellent and staff so friendly. Also the food was good and rooms clean and comfortable. We will definitely recommend your Farm to people and certainly will stay there again if in the area.

Very nice place! Stayed in one of the cottages, it was everything we could ask for. Spacious and clean. Breakfast and dinner was of a high standard! Very keen Chef! All in all a superb accommodation if you are planning on going to the Addo Park. Communications leading up to our stay were very efficient.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
COME AND RELAX IN OUR TRANQUIL ENVIRONMENT, WITH ONLY SOUNDS OF NATURE AT YOUR DOORSTEP... De Old Drift Guest Farm, a short distance from the little village of Addo in South Africa’s malaria-free Eastern Cape province and only 15min drive from the renowned Addo Elephant National Park, with its big Seven, and numerous other species. De Old Drift is a working citrus farm, one of the smallest but most peaceful farms in the area. Take a tour through the orchards and venture down to The Sundays river, only a short 2km away, where Njala, Kudu’s and Rooibok can be seen on the ridge of the mountain. Relax around the pool after a long day at the Elephant Park, or take a walk through the garden and orchards, when the trees are in blossom, the smell of citrus permeates the air. Enjoy our refreshing breakfast in our thatched roof lapa overlooking the garden and swimming pool area. Adventure, fun and games await children, where Pumba (Labrador), Timone (Jack Russel) and Mufasa (Bullmastiff) love to make new friends and play... a little paradise for all children. Your hosts Neels, Juanita and Steffi, will make sure that your stay will be one to remember. ... more   less
