Paul and Susanne I thank you for the kind words and awesome review. We enjoy what we do and the team try their best. I am an old car lover and have a few of these old and interesting classics. Not knowing much about the modern cars but the basics stay the same. Therefore i am very happy i could help. Trust you enjoyed the route to Oudtshoorn and Willowmore where i grew up as a farmers son, never thought we would retire as hoteliers. We thank you again and invite those that read this, book Hitgeheim, you will have the most awesome safari experience booking our recommended safaris. Kind regards Archie

I thank you for the full marks and appreciate the dinner comment. In a small hotel/lodge like Hitgeheim, dinners are and will forever be a challenge. To cater for everyone's liking, will never be possible. When i travel i like to challenge and enjoy the food of the country we travel in. I have on numerous occasions paid huge bills and walked away hungry because it was just not my style and taste. With us if you are not happy you do not pay. We tried typical South African "Boerekos" but it did not work. It is the food the small minority group of white South African eat. Meat,Rice/Potatoes Vegetables and salads. A huge 400 mm white plate full of beautiful and colourful food. To much and to much waste. What everyone enjoy is our traditional barbecue. Our venue is perfect and the atmosphere on the deck with the open fire is unique. We also do a traditional South African evening introducing food from all cultures, Khoi San, Indian Malay, Xhosa and focusing on Nelson Mandela's likings to desert by the minority of white South African. With this we need everyone seated in time, because we explain the meal, the barbecue and the african dinner in great detail. Meaning that should you come late you will not understand what you will be served and might find it dull and boring, like in this case. If you participate,, listen and ask, you will rave about what you experience. For our normal 4 course set menu with choices on the main and desert, I am very happy with the overwhelming compliments our two chef's are getting. If there are any special dietary requirements then our chef's go out of their way to accommodate and please. Therefore we ask to please let us know in advance. We are out in the bush and not next to the supermarket and mall. Being out in the bush make Hitgeheim a very special and crime free establishment. Please follow our direction and not the shortest route on the SATNav GPS or Google maps N2 R335 and R336 Safe and super easy. I thank you for mentioning the transfer. We do this because we care about your safety. If this was by any means lucrative and/or profitable all lodges and B&B's would have the service. It is purely for your safety and to allow you to enjoy the private game reserve experience. Our recommended combination of a National Park and a Private Reserve is unique to us and compliment the wild life experience, allowing our recommended safaris to be the superior Malaria Free Wildlife Safari Adventure. Book with us, we will sleep you in the best way possible, we will feed you in a very interesting and unique experience, book our recommended safaris and you will have an Wildlife Safari Adventure of extreme note. Looking forward meeting all that read this far. Kind regards Archie

We are so happy that the little one survived the swollen eye from the mosquito bite. It should not have happened but maybe the pictures will cause a huge laugh once she grew up. Pretty sure the family and Grannies will remember this when choosing a birthday or xmas present. Wish i could. For the rest i thank you. It is always good to read and to know that the staff is well informed and friendly. We, and I mean us all, are super dedicated to allow everyone sharing the Hitgeheim experience, to be super happy. This is an awesome and very unique place, the staff is magic and the dedication to service excellence is our passion. Book us and enjoy the better Wildlife and Leisure option in and around Addo Elephant Park. Our three night Addo Schotia Wildlife Safari Package is superior value for money. Make sure i say hallo. Looking forward hosting you all Warm and kind regards and a sincere Thank You from us all. Archie Owner at Hitgeheim.

I tried via the mobile phone but it look as if it did not on the net. Stay on the N2 past the City of Port Elizabeth towards the north. Take the first off ramp after the suburb of Bluewater Bay marked. Addo Elephant Park. Motherwell Markman St Georges R335. Take the R335 with the ZCaltex Truck Stop now on your right. Follow this road for 40 km and go through the village of Addo. FNB Bank A few Shops Caltes fuel Station and Police Station on your left. Go over the railway for 100 meters turn left towards Kirkwood on the R336. This is at the big Africanos and Sundaysriver Valley Hospital signs. Follow this road toward Kirkwood(31km) for 9 km and find my 13 signs to lead you to the front door of Hitgeheim Country Lodge. Our Mobile number is 0027(0)82 565 2864 Archie, i am the owner.
