Didn't stay in this hotel but we have always drove past it and thought we would stop for lunch. My partner and I both ordered a ploughman's. It came with ham, beef, cheese, fries, salad, pickle, coleslaw, caremalised onions and the most scrumptious home made bread I've ever tasted. By far the best ploughman's I've had to date and reasonably priced.The...

Slow service, very disappointing food. Won't come back anytime soon. On the positive side it was warm and cosy inside and very clean. I think they were short of staff and they seemed flustered. Next time I'll try somewhere else.

Staff very attentive and food was outstanding, great value for money. Extensive bar, comfy sofas in front of cosy log fires. Breakfast was wonderful, owners offered us an earlier sitting to accommodate our needs.

Only stopped for one night so difficult to give a full appraisal but the staff were warm and welcoming, the food was very good, the rooms well appointed and though it sits next to a busy main road, the sound proofing was such that we had a perfect night's sleep. Lots of comfy chairs and space to relax in front...

Stopped here for the night as a very very last minute booking as it is en route home from a quick trip to Exmouth to collect a classic car. Had our two Labradors with us so were assigned a special room suitable for dogs Very nice indeed. Very grand. Cream carpet a little alarming because of the dogs but seemed...

Had a fantastic meal here last week for our Anniversary. We were made to feel welcome straight away by the lovely lady who served us she couldn't do enough for us. My husband has a severe fish allergy and we were reassured that everything had been cooked from fresh so that we could relax and enjoy our meal. Starter of...

We loved our overnight stay in this hotel. Comfortable, quiet room with superb slipper bath in a huge bathroom. All modern facilities in a traditional style hotel, with lots of atmosphere. The lounge had a warm, open fire and there was also an open fire in the bar area. Freshly cooked breakfast was hearty and a great start for the...

Located on the A30 it's easy to find and conveniently located to Honiton, Taunton and lots of other little gems of towns. Despite being on a main road you cannot hear the traffic once in the hotel. We had a lovely four-poster bed in our room and the bathroom had a gorgeous roll top bath. The food was absolutely great...

Today we met up with a friend from Brixham (she has eaten here before) we 4 ladies were driving from Somerset. Excellent location for us to meet. Warmly greeted in a large lounge, log fire, coffee and tea served, very relaxing. Good choice from the lunch menu all of us choosing something different to eat. Good size portions, tasty food....

Three of us stayed here on an overnight visit to Devon, we had looked at several places online all of which seemed quite costly with several bland offerings costing up to £85 per room... I then found this hotel which is situated at Monkton just outside Monition which had a Family Room which would sleep three adults for just £110...
