Rural England at its best - simply wonderful location. Elegant stylish and comfortable home and made to feel very welcomed. Go no further than Martyn's recommendations for local eating venues and places to visit.

Passing through the area we were delighted as a Wolsey Lodges member that Martyn & Susie agreed a one night booking. On arrival Martyn made himself known whilst we was busy in the garden, tea & shortbread was rustled up whilst we took in the ambiance on a stunning July summer day in what is a lovely part of rural... Beautiful and quiet location with outstanding views. Excellent breakfast beautifully served. Unless you know better, rely on your hosts to recommend where to eat at night. Ask them to book for you as the good restaurants and pubs fill up very quickly.

We received a warm welcome and invite into a calm and picturesque setting. Ate our hot and delicious breakfast in the breakfast room surrounded by a garden of flowers. We stayed 2 nights and experienced a restful sleep with the quiet that only the countryside can offer. Martyn and Susie wanted to make our stay comfortable in many ways; such... More

We booked this B&B from afar and we're not disappointed. Martin and Sue are consummate hosts. The situation of the house is unbelievable- on a gentle slope with views over the valley. The presence of a working stable within view (20 metres) of our room was a bonus. Breakfast was very very good - ask for the local sausages.... Martin... More

The title says it all. A great couple in thier private house. Watch out you dont miss the entrance. The breakfast is well done in a lovely room and the hosts will provide advice on what to do, where to go in the area.

Wonderful mix of warmth and attention to detail makes Wooden Cabbage the a must stay place for visitors to Dorest. The house overlooks never ending beautiful views of typical Dorest countryside. Susie and Martin are exceptional hosts,by the end of our three day stay we were sad to leave.
