A group of ten of us spent a night in the Ammazulu Palace at the end of our visit to KwaZulu Natal. It was quite difficult to find, and the driver of our small bus had difficulty negotiating the driveway towing a trailer. Once we arrived, we realized that it was well worth the effort. The hotel houses an extraordinary...

A great cultural experience! You can relax and take for granted that all the other ammenities are well catered for. Size of room and the bathroom are generous and help you unwind at the end of the day. My one and only need was for a desk area (in the bedroom) that I could place my lap top and sit...

We held our wedding at this extraordinary venue in July 2016 with the ceremony held in the 'boma' overlooking the gorge. We booked all the bedrooms so that our 3pm start could continue into the evening and we could thereby enjoy Ammazulu's magnificence both during the day and then later by candlelight. I would say, and I'm sure my wife...

One of the most amazing places I have stayed in. The rooms were great and the artwork incredible. Everywhere you looked was something new and eye-catching. You can spend days there and still not take it all in. Lovely garden as well and lovely views of the gorge. Definitely not to be missed.

It is like being in a fairytale. The rooms are excellent. The artwork is amazing. The views are magnificent over the gorge. Service is great. It is truly a palace. Unlike any place I have stayed in the 36 countries I have visited.

I attended a wedding at this truly eccentric and quaint boutique hotel I've loved in Highway area for 27 years and never knew it existed. If you want to visit a place that is different you have to come here in the heart of Kloof. The food was spectacular. The venue has filled every space with art decor. I visited...

Visited the palace with a group of friends for the tour and tea! Wow this place is a wonder work of art and or craziness!!! This 5 star boutique hotel is on top of a hill overlooking a magnificent gorge. The driveway up is somewhat steep but there is parking at the top. The interior is a jaw dropping mix...

I loved the view from the dining area balcony. I was there with my husband for our honeymoon (for one night) and our breakfast (the next day) had hair in it. My husband found a long hair in his mushrooms, and I found some hair in my scrambled eggs. We were disgusted and stopped eating immediately and left - without...

This place is an upmarket B& B whose owner is a collector of all things Zulu. The place is totally over the top but the rooms are all suites and all have a massive amount of space. Our suite ( room9) did not have a view but it did have a lounge, small kitchen area, dressing area and bedroom and...
