Well, during this unusual time our travel options seemed so limited for our Summer Vacation. Last year was Portugal, two years ago Maui... we weren’t too hopeful on finding a unique spot close to home. Let me tell you... we were wrong! Majopial is such a gorgeous discovery. Only a 2 hour drive from Ottawa... easy to find. We were welcomed immediately and given a tour. We chose to stay in the Minitik Inn. A 2 year old building with about 6 rooms. The decor is absolutely perfect for the area. The rooms were a good size with a lot of attention to the details. Beautiful tiled bathroom with a deep set tub and huge walk-in shower with local bath products that were exceptional. Our room had a good sized television, a Nespresso machine as well as a bar fridge. Each room has a little patio area with 2 Muskoka chairs and a view of the lake. At the top floor of the Inn there is a nice common room with a toaster and kettle, tv and comfy sitting area. You can sit outside there too. So perfectly thought out. They supply complimentary juice, water and soft drinks. It’s a great space! We had access to the huge hot tub that is just for the Inn guests and it was in a covered spot so even when it is raining you can enjoy it. There was one huge hot tub and another smaller one. It was never crowded. Gorgeous spot! We stayed in the Minitik Inn. Beautifully decorated rooms with such great thought. Good sized rooms, stunning tile and fixture choices. Huge shower and soaker tub. Local soap and bath products supplied. Rooms have a little patio with Muskoka chairs. Each room has a small bar fridge. There is also a very well appointed common room on the main floor with seating inside and out. A fridge with complimentary juice and soft drinks... a toaster, a kettle, television and some games. A great spot!! The property is well maintained and beautiful. The lake is quiet but with some action to keep you entertained. We enjoyed renting kayaks to explore the lake and watched others using the canoes and paddle boards. My husband even fished on the dock. Just a wonderful, calm, relaxing spot with great amenities. We would like to visit every season. The restaurant beside the Inn is about a 3 minute walk. Unbelievable food and the best service. Honestly, the nicest wait staff ever! We were concerned as we don’t speak French but they had no issues with us at all. Really, they could not do a better job with hospitality. They gave us great attention and care. The food is just so good!!! Fresh everything!!! The pasta, the fish, the veggies, the presentation!!! All 5 star!!! Amazing quality and care in every delicious dish. Portion sizes are large too! We actually shared one main at lunch each time because they give you so much. This was a wonderful time away for my husband and I. We wish we had booked to stay longer but we will be back. Our only question is ... where did you hide the mosquitoes? There were none!!! Also... it is important to state that during this Pandemic we felt extremely protected and safe the entire time. They went above and beyond to make sure all safety measures were in place. We never once felt concerned and we are in the medical field. Well done! We really can’t say enough about our great experience!!!!

We are very familiar with this area having lived there but were in the area on business and decided to spend the night at this lovely new Auberge.. The location is beautiful. The Minitik sits directly on the peaceful shores of 31 Mile Lake and is a delight all on its own. It is beautifully appointed, very comfortable and has everything you would require to have a wonderful vacation or an escape into nature. This includes heated floors or air conditioning in summer with king sized beds, large private patios that overlook the beautiful lake where you will hear the loons calling. The bathrooms are equipped with deep soaking tubs and lovely walk in showers as well as first class toiletries. I particularly loved the beautiful sinks that are like a large rock with the centre carved out for a basin. Thick white robes are provided and you can sit on your private patio drinking an espresso made in your suite on a Nespresso. There is a spa outside overlooking the lake or you can sit upstairs in a lovely common room where you can make the acquaintance of your fellow visitors. It is well stocked with complimentary teas, coffees, soft drinks, juices etc. There are lots of books that you can borrow should you want to. There is a marina on site if you wish to bring your own boat and you can make arrangements to rent canoes or boats. Just steps from the Minitik is a wonderful restaurant (L'Huile d'Olive) that will satisfy the most discerning of tastes. This is more than a vacation, its an experience.

We had a blast in this beatiful and luxureous cottage by the lake. It's a perfect place to rent if you are a big group wanting to enjoy some good time in the woods! We sang song around the campfire and the isolation was perfect! And the view from my room in the morning was one of the most beautiful I've seen in my life!
