What a outstanding hidden gem and certainly the best place to stay when visiting the D-Day sites. Our room was clean, comfortable, with plenty of room and a wonderful balcony. The food in the restaurant was superb! The best mussels we have eaten in a very long time, wonderful home cooked food and delicious desserts. A very warm and welcoming...

We arrived at La Sapiniere rather late and just in time to catch dinner. The staff was welcoming and friendly, and we immediately sat at the hotel's restaurant, a cosy wooden cabin were we ate delicious pork ribs and sole meuniere. The portions were very generous and the atmosphere comforting. The hotel looks very nice and is built in cabin-style...

We stayed at La Sapiniere in mid June and found it thoroughly delightful. The owner, Isabelle, was charming and made us feel at home. In addition, the rest of the staff was very attentive and helpful as well. Our room was crisp and clean. We found the location an excellent base for visiting the D-Day sites as well as other...

This hotel was an absolute pleasure to stay at. The hotel is located on the same ground the US troops had to cross. There is a complete German bunker with gun still in place next door. The beautiful beach is steps away. The owner and staff are fabulous. The rooms are very nice and very well kept. The restaurant is...

Our experience here is beyond words. The emotion that surrounds this unique beach hotel is powerful. It's location is on the battlefield of the D-Day invasion. It's on a quiet street. Beautiful grounds. Wonderful food. Huge rooms. Very relaxing. Very, very quiet, except for the sounds of children playing.

We had a wonderful stay here in early September 2012 for 3 nights. The hotel is so close to Omaha beach. It is literally a 2-3 minute walk. There is also a German bunker about 3 minutes away from the hotel as well. Overall the accomodations were comfortable with a large main room and bed and two single beds in...

My husband and I chose La Sapiniere as our base for exploring this part of France. Just steps away from Omaha Beach, it was the perfect place for my history-buff husband. The room was comfortable, clean and roomy and the restaurant served great food. The owner and her staff were friendly and very helpful. We hope to return someday.

This hotel was literally steps from Omaha Beach (2 minutes or less). There was an open, casual lawn area that was perfect for reading, having a drink, playing Bocce ball or ping pong. The rooms were large (even by American standards), bathrooms were modern. The place was packed with travelers from many countries. The restaurant was also crowded - make...

If you are looking for a nice, small hotel run by lovely people in the right place around all the Normandy landing beaches then this place seems a good option. I stayed here for 2 nights with my wife and two small kids, in a 'family suite'. Given the hassle of staying in 'family suites' in general, this room was...
