We only stayed one night, but I want to go back! My friend and I were on a self-guided hiking trek. We arrived soggy, and a bit out of sorts. But the lovely inn, and friendly innkeepers, Di and John, soon made us feel comfortable and very content. The delicious dinner was prepared by Di, and served family style to...

Staying two nights was not enough! We were pleased with the quality of the accommodations, the rooftop deck was delightful. Every possible need was anticipated, so that we had a most relaxing experience. With a backdrop of lovely ethnic furnishings in their hotel, Di and John are very knowledgeable about the area, anxious to share their thoughts in helpful ways,...

We loved staying with Di and her partner. We were there for three nights and felt it was a great break from the busy sunshine coast. The location is unique - very quiet and in a typical Spanish mountain village. It is a short drive to Ronda (about 20-30minutes), which is definitely worth a visit. We also went for hikes to...

My husband and I spent 4 lovely days at this very special hotel with a difference. It's more like being guests in the home of Di and John. The building, in one of the prettiest of the "white villages" in a spectacular mountain landscape, is beautifully decorated, with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Breakfasts were excellent, and usually involved chatting...

Even a wet day couldn't dampen our overnight stay at Los Castanos. Di and John run an extremely clean, comfortable hotel and served us an excellent evening meal and breakfast in the best of surroundings. Came away relaxed and very pleased with our choice. Highly recommend.

Di & John have not forgotten anything. We were thoroughly impressed with the property and their service and attention to detail. In addition to their help we were impressed with their "stand in helper" Carmen, she was friendly and always wore a smile. As far as food service we opted to eat some meals in and a few elsewhere in...

My wife and I spent 2 nights here after visiting Barcelona and Granada. I had initially planned on staying in Ronda but on the recommendation of a friend we found our way to Los Castanos. This was a great decision as we really got to relax and recharge our batteries. The hotel is located in a small mountain village about...

We knew this was going to be good and it was. A place for the individual traveler - it suited us very well. The delightful roof terrace offers fabulous views over this lovely hilltop village. All the bedrooms are nice and cosy with thoughtful touches. The lounge/dining areas are particularly pleasant and all-in-all make for a relaxing place to hole...

Di and John run a lovely, comfortable and quiet establishment in the heart of Andalucia. Food is great - a blend of Spanish & Moroccan in a style developed by Di. It seems to attract an interesting and enjoyable mix of people. Not a place for noisy families, or certainly wasn't while we were there.

Following our driving directions, you arrive outside the great chestnut doors of Los Castanos behind which there is quality accommodation, personal, informal atmosphere, local wines and great home-cooked food.
