I Loved Mt. Irvine Bay Resort! It definitely gives the feeling of being on a breezy, relaxing, no hustle vacation. The resort was lovely, the rooms are comfortable, the food was amazing and the overall ambience just said beach, Caribbean, relaxing vacation!
We were a group of 3 couples, visited for a weekend in February. The conceirge at check in was friendly and welcoming, however when he showed us to our rooms, I noticed the beds were two full beds, despite us requesting a queen bed for each room. When I asked about it, he told me those were two queen beds. My entire party looked at each other in confusion, and I really wasn't in the mood to argue, so I asked him why do we have two beds when only one was requested? I informed him we booked with a travel agent and the request was made there. His explanation was, and I quote "Travel agents put a hold on the room, they don't book the rooms. And at the moment the other rooms are booked." I don't know what this had to do with us, who made our booking since January. Regardless, we were determined to enjoy our short stay. I inquired about the opening hours of the pool, which was a determining factor when we booked, but I was told the pool was closed for cleaning. The pool remained closed for cleaning from Friday night to Sunday morning when we left. I can't understand why they would clean the pool over the weekend, when I'm sure majority of people booked their stay for this time (we saw a couple other couples checking in when we, did). I really tried my hardest not to nitpick, but I went to make coffee, only to realize we had a coffee maker with no filter and instant coffee. No problem, we heated the water in the coffee maker, and went to sweeten the coffee with the sugar. Opened the sugar packet and it was all melted and stuck together. I swear you can't make this up, I don't know how long that sugar was there. The other packets seemed like they were fresh. When we went to breakfast the Saturday morning, our party observed all Covid protocols, we wore masks, sanitized and took our temperature before entering. We made our way to the buffet, and was being served when another couple entered. The man just walked in without sanitizing or observing social distancing. My friend told him very politely about the protocol, that he has to sanitize before entering, to which he responded "You is the boss? No, she's the boss (pointing to the staff member behind the buffet serving us) , so mind your business". He then proceeded to stick his head behind the buffet line to see what was being served. The staff members at the buffet did and said nothing to ensure he followed this proper procedure and we didn't even bother to argue with such a rude, disgusting individual. We were just glad to have received our food before him. The rooms were nice, mostly clean. My friends did not receive any blankets in their room but we received two and lent them one. The beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. The ice machine was convenient. At the end of the stay I happened to notice the back of the curtain which was absolutely covered in mold (see picture attached). The two other couples I went with told me it was the same in their rooms, so I would suggest that the hotel clean those for future guests. …
I was really excited for my anniversary trip that I took with another couple who were also celebrating their anniversary but ended up disappointed. We arrived the first day they reopened after being closed for months due to covid. We arrived after 1...spent about 40 mins checking in and was told our rooms weren't ready. We went to get lunch returned and still had to wait by the pool. We got our room mins to 4pm...check in is 3pm. Pros -Food at restaurant is amazing -Restaurant staff are super nice, shout out to peanut and restaurant supervisor (didn't get her name). -The hotel grounds are lovely it is clear that the rooms have been recently upgraded -Welcome rum punch is out of this world Cons -Reception staff are rude -They tried to charge me more than what they sent on the booking invoice (good thing I made a down payment and they sent me an email informing of my balance) -I made only 1 requests at booking that happy anniversary be placed on the beds in both rooms. They never did it. When I Enquired why I was told that they had many anniversary guests and couldn't do it (the hotel was a ghost town our first night). Although Joel assured me that they would do it. They NEVER apologized. - I always check below the bed to ensure I leave nothing behind. I found a lot of dust and a face cream that didn't belong to anyone I traveled with (see pictures it might be yours). I have to assume it belonged to someone who stayed in the room before closing for months due to covid. Scary! What were they cleaning when we arrived? I reported it while checking out... Again No explanation or apology. -Dont get me started on the girl at the towel counter! I will not be returning!…
My first time staying at the Mount Irvine Bay Resort ,I stayed for 2 nights 3 days for my birthday a few days ago 7th August. Oh what a wonderful property!! From check in to check out....attention to all details. Even with the new COVID Health and Safety Protocols, everywhere on the property clearly states ---social distancing and to wear a mask! Guests I saw were all adhering to the postings. The staff was especially courteous, greets you pleasantly; I must say "thank you so much for making my stay special" to Dion and Nicolas the front desk personnels, Sannicia, Ms Dempster and her wait staff at dinner and breakfast -- the young lady attendants--very attentive and helpful---oh what service it was!! Thank you They were always mindful of the social distancing , always mask on yet provided excellent service! I look forward to my next stay at Mount Irvine Bay Resort, enjoyed my birthday had a fantastic stay!!…
I stayed here for one night on a recent trip in one of their suites. The room was extremely spacious with a sitting area and two bathrooms, all well maintained and recently updated. Service from all staff members was exceptional and friendly. The breakfast buffet was more than adequate and offered a very good choice. Mount Irvine Beach is probably the best beach on the island and even more stunning on a very sunny day. All in all a fantastic experience where even in this time of COVID you get that relaxed holiday stress free feeling. Thank you Mt. Irvine
