We planned to have a nice trip to Tobago. Before reservation we did some reasearch on the location. We concluded out of reviews from others, that there were some shopping malls and good restaurants. The reservations went very smooth and the owner was very flexible. Unfortunately we had a unpleasant surprise when we arrived in a very rough neigbourhood. We were told that there is public transportation available. To our disappointment, we had to wait hours before any bus arrived. Even though the owners of the apartment were very friendly, this could not make up for the not so fresh smell that came from the badroom curtains and dirty doors in the appartment.
Sea views and a hundred yards from the bay. The large garden with seats looks out across the reef towards the sunset. Immediately down the path are the fishing boats and pleasure boats. Some with glass bottoms. A trip across the coral reef and nylon pool is good value fun. The nearby beach is good for a swim with lifeguards. The accommodation with balconies has all the basics and good Wi-Fi but the tv may not work. The owners are friendly and helpful. You can buy tasty cooked food or eat out. This large village seemed a safe place with chickens strolling about. The local garage is good for car Hire. The supermarket is a bit of a hike but a good fruit and veg stall outside it. Other tiny shops can be found and an information office for tourists Taxis are reasonable.
We absolutely loved our stay at Reef View Apartments and were blown away with Sonny's attentiveness. Our original booking at Fish Tobago hostel/guesthouse fell through a couple days before our trip, and honestly, it was entirely for the best. For $10 more per night we felt like we got lucky upon finding Reef View Apartments. The owner (Sonny) responded quickly by email and was available on Whatsapp. He coordinated to find us on the ferry and, since he had his car on the boat, gave us a lift directly to the apartments once we arrived in Scarborough. Sonny and his wife Patsy run an exquisite location! They built the whole place from the ground up about a decade ago, so it feels new. The apartments are all lovingly maintained, very spacious, have a gorgeous view, the lawn and property are pristine, and we were minutes away from the boat dock and the beach. I loved having a full kitchen, buying local groceries, and eating on our balcony looking out at the water. As a couple, we had plenty of space in our upstairs apartment #1. Sonny showed us some of the other units and they are so nice, with some that are even larger with more sleeping space to accommodate bigger groups. Sonny gave us a lift to Crown Point (about a 15 min drive and definitely busier than Buccoo) the next day and helped us rent a scooter so we could explore Tobago on our own. He and Patsy were always available on the property if we had any questions. We even met their daughter as she was visiting for Christmas and she helped us arrange a driver for our next stop in Trinidad. The whole family is so friendly and helpful -- I can't thank them enough for making our stay in Buccoo worry-free and super enjoyable! Thank you Sonny and Patsy and Reef View Apartments! We recommend this accommodation whole-heartedly and would gladly return.…
Stayed at Reef View Apartments for a few days, our apartment was very clean and well looked after. The host Miss Patsy was very nice, welcoming and professional. The beach was very close to the apartments and the sea view from the apartments beautiful, we would definitely go back. Thank you Patsy for a lovely stay.
Great room, clean and large enough for 4 people. It had a kitchen so we bought fresh fish every morning from the local fishermen. It’s only a 5 minute walk to the beach. One of the best views I’ve ever experienced, so calm and peaceful. I love this place and plan to return. Although it’s a small town it had a bakery a small grocery store and a fruit stand not too far. So overall great location.
