We had an amazing ski weekend hosted at the Auberge. The staff was so kind, friendly and accommodating. We really enjoyed the food and care they put into making our weekend an enjoyable event. Thank you so much. We look forward to booking future group trips at this location.

Great location near many ski trails. The room had lots of space, super clean and overlooked the park across the street. Extra blankets and pillows were in the room to use.
The restaurant had a breakfast special with local duck which was delicious. Also highly recommend the salmon for dinner. Staff were very fast and good with orders for a bigger group.

Those of you who have read the Inspecteur Gamache series will be keeping an eye out for some of the characters.
Our room was perfect. This is an auberge, so the emphasis is not on modern, but quaint. Nevertheless, the rooms are comfortable and well-equipped. Lovely reception, and good food available at their bistro. You are a short walk to the beach, and right in the commercial area, which Is surrounded by historical buildings and beautiful homes.

We have checked in on February 27 for one night.
The check out policy is at 11 am the next day.
At nine thirty am, while I was still comfortably in my underwear drinking coffee , the house keeper open the door widely staring at my boyfriend and me . Our reaction was total surprise, not pleasant as one might guess. Her way of apology was “ oh you are still here”. We kindly told her that yes we were and we would not be checking out till eleven.
At 10:15 ( thank God, this time we both were dressed) ,using her own key she swung the door widely open . This time the announcement was that she was advised we were gone.
Knocking on a closed door prior to entering is a sign of culture and manners in any situation and at the hotel industry it a MUST.
Naturally we were extremely irritated for being treated like that after paying 155$ for a bed , questionably clean bathroom and meagrely strong coffee that need to be taken from a common shared space.
Mind you the housekeeper was not aware about mandatory policy of wearing a mask.
When we voiced the facts to Johanne at the reception , her reaction was “ so what exactly you are complaining of ?”.
We left for hiking .
Later once in Montreal late I realized I left my pretty expensive jacket in the closet . I called at the number provided on the website . The night guard answered and told me that he would check in the morning
At 6:40 the next day he called and told me that he found it in the room.
Such a nice person and human being . That information puzzled me as of why the house keeper was rushing us to leave when there was no one to take the room.
Is the cleaning protocol ignoring checking the closets ?
Usually there should be a 24/48 between guests
I would never ever recommend this place even for one third of the price that we paid.

Although perfectly located in the township of Knowlton for Louise Penny fans, I would not recommend staying here if helpful and friendly owners are important to you. In a small establishment as is this one, guests would expect that owners be available for helpful and friendly information regarding the area. These owners were rarely seen and not the least interested or helpful. Instead we relied on their friendly and warm maintenance staff to provide needed assistance.

We stayed here for a weekend getaway and it did not disappoint.
Great food, great atmosphere and a prime location.
We took advantage of the ski hills this time but would love to come back in the summer and see the many vineyards close by.

Nothing terrible about the room or the inn, but nothing wonderful either. It's a quirky historic building. The front desk is up a rather steep set of steps, so it's a hassle to lug all your luggage up there. No elevator. The bathroom was modernized about 20 years ago but not updated since. The furnishings were also about 20 years old, if not more. It was ok for one night. The AC worked and kept us cool during a hot night. It was dog friendly which was a big plus for us. I wouldn't go out of my way to stay in Knowlton but if you need to for one night, this is an ok choice.

Cute, quiet, air conditioned rooms. The bathroom needs updating. Avoid room #5, the room next to the coffee maker. Housekeeper is a hard working gem! History infuses this hotel. Great location near The Buzz and Lac Brome Books, both wonderful!

We stayed for one night in August, we made the reservation over the phone and hadn't seen the room first. Big mistake. The room was tiny, and the carpet really dirty. Filthy. The little "toy" window air conditioning produced only noise. The bed was awful, small and bouncy. The room was stuffy and much too hot, but the only window didn't open.
The location is central, it's great if you want to walk around town or to the lake. But you can hear traffic all the time, they are on the main road.
I've read the other reviews, I don't know where people come up with "quaint and cheerful". It was downright depressing, we couldn't wait to check out. I suspect these are not genuine.

The restaurant downstairs is decent.

On December 1, 2015 I made a reservation with Brian, the Inn Manager at the Knowlton Inn for the night of Friday, December 4, 2015, as my brother and I were attending a family function in Knowlton the following day.
As I had no hard copy of the confirmation for this reservation, I called Brian back a few moments later to confirm the price he had quoted me was for two people, for one night and included Breakfast, Parking, and all Taxes and Fees, which he did.
Knowlton is a quaint village, nestled amongst the hills of Quebec's Eastern Townships and is well worth the visit for anyone traveling that way with time to explore this unique landscape and atmosphere.
We were well pleased with our accommodations at this Inn, which reportedly has been an Inn for a very long time. Our room was well appointed and comfortable.
Unfortunately, we had a problem at check out. The Inn Manager insisted that the price he had quoted me did NOT include breakfast. And although I contested his position vigorously, he flatly refused to honor his verbal commitment he made to me on December 1, 2015.
Not only that, he was extremely rude and insulting to one of his staff members who was present during this ordeal,
I think Brian may be ready for a career change. For $20.00, he has jeopardized his owner's business credibility despite having a beautiful and comfortable place to stay.
So, if you are considering staying at this property, you may want to insist on a hard copy of your reservation before leaving home.
