This is my 2nd stay here. The first in 2012. Then, it was very clean and tidy, breakfast was 5star, no complaints at all. This visit we brought a group of 8. And of course had hyped up the place. The Good - The staff are quiet but friendly and helpful. The swimming pool was a fabulous meeting point for...

This was our second trip to Raro having previously stayed at the Edgewater. We thought that The rarotongan would be an upgrade from that but I'm not so sure... Good points: Beautiful entranceway and Island feel about the resort with the walk ways and landscaping. Located on one the best beaches in Rarotonga, lots of amazing snorkelling right on the...

The rooms are old and need some renovations. Breakfast is pretty dismal and the staff should have some knowledge about the island; they couldn't give even you restaurant recommendations or details of the night markets. That said the pool and activities are was nice and the beach and snorkelling was good.

Kia Orana tanigm, We are delighted that you found the prime white sandy beach, snorkelling in our marine reserve, large beachfront swimming pool and wide range of complimentary activities to be enjoyable at our Rarotongan resort, that is wonderful feedback. We are sorry that the rooms and breakfast did not meet your expectations. Our Duty Manager (whose name is posted...

First of all, on a global scale, the Rarotongan would only get a three star rating when compared to a Marriott or similar. However, this is Rarotonga, and this resort is classic, traditional Polynesia at its best. The location is truly 5 star. Situated on a coral beach next to some of the best snorkeling on the island. It's magical!...

Sadly this resort is struggling which is a shame for the grand old dame nestled by the lagoon, the snorkelling is fabulous here and we were treated to two magnificent moray eels heading back from their nights feasting early one morning, wow! The staff here are very out of sorts, it's basically chaotic with most things not quite working out!...

We were worried after reading trip advisor but to be honest I find the bad reviews hard to believe The beach right outside the hotel has some of the best snorkelling on the island Room was clean and big, we stayed in a beachside suite which was nice and private. They even put the aircon on before we got there...

The suite itself is amazing. It was like our own little private oasis. We loved the private pool, the outdoor spa bath, and the outdoor shower. We didn't try out the sauna, just being outside was a little like being in a sauna anyway. A very comfortable bed, and lovely cool air conditioning. The rest of the resort is nice,...

Excellent accommodation. Staff are friendly and inviting. We stayed 7 nights and enjoyed everyone of them. Only downfall is to Just check your check in dates as a fee is charged for early check in. However would like to thank the barman Andre who started our days with big smiles and laughter. Will definitely be back.

We had read a number of reviews that gave us cause for concern for this resort, but decided on balance that it would suit us. We could have stayed at a Muri resort for the same money but at the Rarotongan, we could take two adjoining beachfront rooms which suited our teenage daughters well. The beach was very good, and...

I stayed here mid January 2017 for 5 nights with my 14 year old and 8 year old.
