Sincere thank you to Torre Do Rio for their kindness in the waiver of their booking fee when sadly we could not get there this year due to Covid. This is a beautiful rustic hotel, a hidden jewel in Galicia. The rooms are comfortable and so pretty with wonderful views. We stay there every year. It has lovely areas to sit and have a vermouth with a lovely rustic ambience. We always eat in the restaurant in the evening as the food is delicious. The hotel as a very nice surprise in the garden!! Thank you. See you next year please God. Jose Benito and Deborah from Cardiff.
Quite simply, this is the most beautiful hotel we have stayed in - ever! We were only booked in for one night, but wished we could have stayed longer. Everything about the hotel is faultless - service, rooms, food, facilities - and then there are the gardens. Planning to go back one day, but will stay much longer next time. Highly recommended.
Travelling to Portugal from Santiago teeming with rain so we decided on an overnight stop, found this hotel in the search engine and booked it as it was the closest...wow what a stroke of luck one of the best hotels i have ever stayed in.Patricia on reception is an absolute star meeting us with umbrellas as we pulled up,then made us coffee and brought it to our rooms late into the evening. The hotel is set in magnificent grounds very picturesque...would definitely recommend and would return in a second.
We stayed here while walking the Camino, it is perfectly done and the best hotel I have ever experienced. So clean, beautifully decorated, outstanding grounds and wonderful meals. Top notch, if you are ever in this area, it’s the only place to stay. I will return.
We stayed at the hotel for one night only (unfortunately) while doing the Portuguese Camino recently. What a wonderful experience. The hotel itself is stunningly beautiful. We stayed in a smallish double room (Violetta) but it was clean, comfortable and very cosy. It had the most powerful hairdryer I have ever encountered which came in very handy to dry boots and clothing as it had rained for the entire day of walking from Pontevedra and we were soaked. The hotel provided bed and breakfast as part of the tariff but dinner was extra. We are so glad we decided to eat at the restaurant. The scallops we ordered are probably the best scallops I have ever had and the pimientos and octopus we ordered were just as good. Breakfast was a little chaotic with numerous walkers trying to finish up and get on the road but the spread was great. We did not have any hot options but there were ample options of meats, cheeses, pastries, breads and cereals. Coffee was self-served and was probably where the back-up occurred. Nevertheless, I would return in a heartbeat and thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone travelling in the area.…
