Detailed Reviews

we have spent 10 days at Faralya Botanica and it was a dream-like experience. The place itself is amazing. Fruits and vegetables growing everywhere, smells of basil and sage, sounds of cicadas it smooth jazz coming of the kitchen, meals under the shadow of the grapevines, afternoons naps in the hamac.
the Kitchen is where Nuri, our host, and his wonderful family cooked so many amazing breakfast and diners, always fresh and local products. Nuri is so enthusiastic about food that you will totally want to reconnect with your sense of taste and try every new specialty he send your way.
Our room was really nice, quiet and cosy and what a pleasure to wake up and look at the sea.
we also enjoyed the hikes along the lycian way and had fun and rest on the close-by beaches. We had the best time here in Faralya Botanica, and I would highly recommend it to anyone who knows how to enjoy simple but precious pleasures in life, like good food, sun and sea breezes and of course amazing people who I am proud now to call friends.

We just spent 10 days in Feraliya Botanica
An idilic place away from the beaten path but still accessible. Nuri and his GF Diane could not be nicer...welcomed us and fed us glorious food.
This place is NOT a boutique hotel or a chain hotel; it is a place up in the mountain good for hiking and swimming in the ocean with nature at your feet and great healthy
We left after 10 days with our hearts broken but knowing we will come back!

We were attracted to the village Faralya by the nature and the many interesting things to see and experience in the area as well as the relatively unspoiled character of this part of the coast.
Staying at Faralya Botanica is a quite special experience, which will not appeal to all sorts of people. We loved it. Actually we ended up staying for 10 days instead of the 5 we had planned from home.
We recommend Faralya Botanica if you like:
- To experience one of the most scenic, wild, unspoiled and clean areas on the Lycian coast line.
- Swimming in the sea from the nearby, rocky coast, with very good snorkeling.
- Relaxing in an old nature garden on the mountain side with many different fruit trees, herbs and vegetables growing on leveled terraces.
- An outstanding choice of paths for short walks or more adventures hikes in a fantastic landscape. If you like Tuscany in Italy, chances are that you will love this area too. Tip: We had great use of our hiking map app on our phones, which is great for exploring paths in the area.
- GREAT food: Homemade cooking in a fusion of traditional Turkish kitchen and a not-so-small touch of international/urban kitchen. Cooked casually with professional experience and a true passion for sublime food, made from the ground with the best of seasonal, organic and local ingredients, the food in this place is nothing less than honest gourmet food. Really. In our humble opinions, of course.
- Perhaps doing a bit of yoga exercise on a nice wooden platform with a view to the sea.
The owner of Faralya Botanica, Nuri, is truly a man of many talents and skills. Cooking is probably his most obvious skill, but in every aspect we found Nuri an attentive, caring and conscious host, with a natural balance of professional service and personal hosting. Nuri has tremendous knowledge about the local food and nature as well as the culture and history of turkey – and actually a lot more – which he shares generously. He is a storyteller by heart and made us laugh a lot and a few times he even made us reflect on life and stuff :) Of course it helped us that Nuri speaks English like a native Londoner.
This place and the area have a lot more for us to explore and to enjoy, so we will definitely be back at Faralya Botanica on our next trip to Turkey. We really would like NOT to recommend this place for too many people because it is really rare. But good things are important to share and probably you will agree, if you go there.
We absolutely recommend that you go somewhere else, if you appreciate or prefer:
- All-inclusive resorts or eat-all-you-can buffets.
- Sun beds/umbrellas on a sandy beach.
- Swimming pool or special facilities for children.
- Bars and night life.
- Straight lines and squares :)

We stayed at Faralya Botanica in June passing through Fethiye. Their simple but authentically decorated stone house, fruitful grape wines, outdoor dining areas and the panoramic view of the sea that follows you around is so dreamy yet homely. Then there is Nuri Bey, he is like a big brother welcomes his friends not guests to his little piece of paradise with both arms. The only thing could possibly top his better than first class hospitality and warmth is his cooking skills. The fresh breakfast to delicious dinners he prepared are all top notch. An amazing and perfect spot for an unforgettable holiday. Staying here for only two night was too short as we had tight schedule to follow, but only left us with a perfect excuse to come back again soon. Thanks Nuri bey, From your friends in London, Ali.

Faralya Botanical is an idyllic spot overlooking the sea. Nuri and Diana are excellent hosts, really making sure you are content. The rooms are very comfortable and clean. Each morning a fresh breakfast is offered in the outdoor dining area. I would recommend watching the sunset then having dinner excellently prepared by Nuri and Diana. You can walk to a small beach or it is a short drive to nearby sandy beaches. It was hard to leave but we certainly hope to return.

I have read the other TripAdvisor reviews of this specIal corner of paradise. They are right- there are few of any other places one can find anywhere as delicious and satisfying as Faralya Botanica, and it is NOT for everyone. It is rustic/rural and is so quiet and peaceful that I will forever be comparing other places I go to this sublime oasis. I cannot praise Nuri and Diana for being the most perfect hosts, chefs, friends and local experts. Food is fresh, bountiful, healthy, and cooked w love and care. The nearby coast is pristine, and as an open water swimmer, I especially appreciated the gorgeous, clear and clean water.
As stated by other reviewers, FB is not for everyone, not does it try to be. It is rural and natural, and will always be the right place for people who care about and appreciate the natural environment, as Nuri does. Go at once if all of this matters to you, and find somewhere else if it is not so important. I will be going again as I left me heart there with Nuri and Diana.

My partner and I spent four amazing days at Faralya Botanica. We’re deeply grateful to Nuri (and Mehmet, Eva, and Ayla) for the great service, the amazing food, and the long conversations at night. Faralya Botanica is not for everyone. If you’re looking for the mainstream seaside experience, you should look somewhere else. If instead, like us, you’re eager to experience a closer contact with uncontaminated nature, hardly you’ll find a more perfect place. Faralya Botanica is in the heart of the Lycian way, with its historical sites, beautiful landscapes, and amazing rocky beaches far away from mass tourism. I will cherish the memory of places such as the Butterfly Valley, St Nicholas Island, the Aquarium bay. Nuri is a unique host. He cooked amazing food (all grown within the premises, where you can find grapes, figs, oranges, tomatoes, and much more), gave us impromptu cooking lessons, and even taught us how to dive like pro’s. I read somewhere “come as a guest, leave as a friend”, but I never believed it, well, until now.

The owner cooks great vegetarian food and as it was Turkish holidays we had fresh fish one day and chicken another. We were about 15mins walk along the Lycean way to a rocky beach. We got up early to go hiking and also snorkelled. We booked B and B but the dinners were great and the staff friendly.

I was one of the first guests to stay at Faralya in 2015 and have just visited again as I had such happy memories of my stay there. In some ways I am reluctant to write about the place as I don't want it to change but I want to support Nuri as he has a very special place and I want to help if I can. I have just read the other reviews and can not really add much more, except to say that if you want to feel that you are in Turkey and leave with wonderful memories then don't miss this place. If you enjoy yoga as I do there is also a wonderful yoga platform that overlooks the ocean. Nuri is a great cook and his breakfasts are the best!

We stayed in Botanica for three days and had a wonderful time: it is quiet place with beautiful view and very nice food. The surroundings are very beautiful, Botanica lies directly along the Lycian way and there are very nice beaches nearby (Kabak beach and Butterfly valley, and a small beach very close to Botanica)
