This beautiful family house makes an exceptional place to spend a few days recharging your batteries and exploring Sicily. The staff are friendly, the villa beautiful and so restful. On our last morning we had to wait a while for a family member with the car to return to pick us up. Christina, the owner, came out to sit with... More

We have just come back from a 2 week trip in Sicily, where we travelled fairly extensively around the region. Our last five days were spent with friends, staying at Borgo Petra. After 10 days of travelling, staying there felt like coming home to a little piece of heaven. We took the Orchard house, which was absolutely perfect for 2... More

We have just returned from a blissful week in Sicily and Borgopetra. After a short time we felt we were in the company of friends rather tan guests. Chistina, Toto and Marzia (and Marco for one day ) made us feel like the center of their world. I cannot say enough good things. Breakfast was substantial and delicious often negating... More

Borgopetra exceeded the reviews. Staying there has helped us to understand what Sicily at its best is about. Generosity, history and feel for the terroir. A class act.

We have just returned home from a truly wonderful experience at Borgopetra. We found it through Alastair Sawday, and not knowing Sicily, we were unsure what to expect. We arrived on a Monday (Italian bank holiday) and Christina was kind enough to tell us in advance that nothing would be open, and booked us into a sweet tratoria in a... More

We went to Borgopetra with a group of us for a week and found the experience below expectations. Rooms were 100euros per day and the service only included breakfast, no daily cleaning of the room and no changes of bath towels for a week (!). This is not a typical bed and breakfast as you are under continuous scrutinity and... More

I wasn’t aware of the fact that TripAdvisor has allowed management responses for quite a while now. Feeling the (old) one-way inability as unfair, I kept a distance from the website. But things evolve. So here I am, late but ready to answer. An unhappy holiday is an unhappy holiday. This is sad, the more so since we live here... More

arrived here from late flight to Catania and used google streetview images to enhance Cristina's directions. Fabulous scent of jasmine in courtyard with perfume from cactus flower. Glorious breakfast of fresh fruit, almond milk and plum tart. Rooms are elegant and bathroom stocked with delicious rosemary scented shower gel. Fridge had cold bottled water. Pool is across lane in peaceful... More

Our stay at Borgopetra was really wonderful. The owners have created both a captivating and also warm and welcoming place for visitors to Sicily. We stayed in the Baron's Suite which was beautifully designed and a pleasure to spend a week in. The old building of Borgopetra is so atmospheric within that you forget the bustle of life outside its... More

Beautiful B&B right in the centre of Mascalucia very near mount Etna. Typical Sicilian town near to the volcano so the stone is very dark. The B&B has a wonderful court yard & we were welcomed by Cristina, her partner & the very friendly dogs as soon as we arrived. Our apartment had was very tastefully decorated & had a... More

We found Borgopetra using Alistair Sawday's guides, which we've always trusted and once again they didn't let us down. Tucked away in the back streets of Mascalucia, once inside the Borgopetra walls you can really relax away from it all. The old town-house has been beautifully and artfully restored to mix a stylish old-fashioned feel with a modern practicality. The... More
