Nestled in a picturesque beachfront location, Blue Waters Resort & Spa in Antigua is often lauded for its tranquil gardens, serene atmosphere, and a variety of amenities, although it may not satisfy those seeking high-energy pursuits. While the spacious rooms with striking views receive compliments, minor maintenance issues have been noted. The resort's cleanliness and service generally garner positive feedback, with staff friendliness standing out despite some reported lapses. However, concerns about value for money and limited activities have been raised by some guests.

Second time back and this hotel simply gets better and better. 10 day family holiday , all inclusive and we booked 2 of the Deluxe Beachfront Rooms, perfect location, overlooking the beach and immaculately cleaned each day.
The staff have to be the friendliest in the Caribbean and a very special mention to Pearle who runs the Pelican bar, you are the best! Thanks to the front desk for trying to book my cricket tickets. A massive mention to Ronald , voted the best Chef in Antigua , for a very good reason, great to meet you at the cricket. Finally, an even bigger thanks to Carrez, head barman at the Cove, thanks for taking me to see WI vs SA, shame about the result , but a fantastic evening and one I wont forget, great company.
Breakfast, lunch and Dinner are first class. A special thanks to all the serving staff at the Cove who are absolutely brilliant. Beers, wines and spirits all excellent under the all inclusive package, you won't need to buy anything top shelf. The hotel gardens are beautiful and better than 18 months ago, when we last visited.
This is a very special hotel and we are definitely coming back. Thank you for looking after the 3 of us.

There is just so much to say about the week we spent here. Starting with a cool lavender scented towel and drink upon arrival. The staff goes above and beyond expectations with attending to every single detail for you. Nicole never misses a beat for all the guests, with such graciousness and calm demeanor. The housekeeping staff never says no to a request. As does everyone at every restaurant and bar: to name a few Gavi, Tramaine , and Sheddy…but really every single person goes out of their way. The rooms are lovely, ours overlooked the ocean, which you could always hear. Twice daily service , robes, slippers , hair dryer and plenty of shampoo etc…There are several restaurants and bars and all have many choices so if you are doing all inclusive, you do not get bored (and I would recommend). In the mornings before bar service, someone brings around fruit skewers, and then late in the afternoon popsicles, just a nice touch. The pools and beach are kept very clean, as is all the seating , constantly being laundered. There is live music several times a week. The lobby is open and airy and lovely, and has its own wonderful bar. I would highly recommend the sunset cruise with Ethan and Rocky, truly a highlight of our week. Nicole also arranged a driver to take us into St John for a bit , as well as making us a dinner reservation at a local restaurant while we were there, and the driver was at the restaurant as we finished to bring us back. Even the security guard greets you with warmth and excitement. Lastly, there is a lovely spa. We enjoyed our massages immensely. For those more adventurous , there are sailboats, kayaks, nature walks, paddle boards, as well as in ocean trampoline and sunning spots. This is a great place to go to unwind, relax and be pampered. Highly recommend it! Thank you to all that made this a great week, Ellen Peruso

My wife and I along with another couple spent 10 days at this hotel complex. We had never visited the Caribbean before so this part of the world was a new experience.
On arrival we were met by Nicole who organised wet face towels, fruit punch and an Antiguan smile from everyone we saw and met. First impressions were what a wonderful and sumptuous complex. This initial impression did not waver during our stay.
The rooms were very clean, well equipped with walk-in shower and separate bath, all possible amenities, which faced a tropical garden with an ocean backdrop. We all agreed we had found our true paradise.
The restaurants, bars, pools and gardens were fabulous with staff incredibly helpful and pleased to see us.
Three separate beaches with water sports and fishing/snorkelling trips as well as an abundance of shade where necessary.
A large colony of Pelicans completed the scenario.
Sonia cleaned our room daily with fresh towels both for showering and beach use. The bed was changed daily if required and turned down each night with fresh beach towels left for the following day.
Too many other names to mention, however Owen, Sparkell, Clarissa and Gavi are just a few.
Will we return next year or before, YES we will. Thank you to all at Blue Waters for making this a holiday of a life time..

I'm reluctantly writing a bad review as Blue Waters has been one of our favourite places for a long time (this was our 8th visit) - however as it's a long way to travel for UK tourists and expensive - I wanted to give an honest review.
Standards have definitely slipped - even since we were there in June.

Food/Restaurants - There was only 1 restaurant open each evening - the excuse being low occupancy - we've been there when it has had low occupancy before but there has always been at least 2 restaurants open. This was limiting - and on one evening there was only one dessert choice which isn't good enough.
The service was hit and miss - breakfast was chaotic - the toast wasn't toasted - the order would come out wrong or with things missing and take a long time. My husband had the surf and turf twice at the Cove and the fillet steak was awful - very thin and full of fat and gristle. Lobster has always been on the menu in September at Blue Waters (lobster season) but not anymore - you have to order it and this isn't publicised. Sometimes you wouldn't get bread on the table - and our lunch order was wrong one day. We used to get ice lollies every day on the beach - that has stopped. The fruit choices were also poor.

Resort - the resort is beautiful and well maintained - however a few days into our holiday the Reef restaurant and pool were closed for planned maintenance - there was also work going on at the wedding pavilion. None of the guests were told about this before we came away so we could have amended our holiday if we wanted to.

Anyone who hadn't been to Blue Waters before wouldn't have had anything to compare their trip to - however we have many times and we spoke to other guests who had been before and were disappointed this time.

I feel that the new management may have contributed to this decline as when Kevin (and Alistair before him) were running the place it was an entirely different experience.

Unfortunately we won't be back.

Dear sim33306, Thank you for sharing your experience at Blue Waters Resort. We are very grateful for your honest review, though we’re truly sorry to hear that your recent stay did not meet the high standards you’ve come to expect from us. We deeply value your loyalty as a long time guest, and it is regrettable to learn that several aspects of your stay fell short in comparison to your previous visits. While it is not uncommon during slower periods, such as September, to see reduced menus and dining options due to lower occupancy, our team strives to ensure that these modifications do not compromise the quality of service. In spite of these efforts, it is disheartening to hear that your experience felt limited. We understand how this may have impacted your stay and will endeavor to further review these areas in an effort to improve. Additionally, it is typical for us to use this time of year to complete planned maintenance and renovations around the property, as we have done in previous years. We regret that this information was not communicated to you beforehand, and we sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this caused. Your feedback is invaluable to us, and while we are saddened to hear that you won’t be returning, we thank you again for sharing your thoughts and hope we can restore your trust in the future. Warm regards, Julia Harripaul, Resort Manager

Blue Waters is a paradise... the hotel sits on a tropical hill and fills it's own bay, so the location is beautiful. Everything about the place is understated quality, and the layout really works. The beaches and pools are plentiful and lovely, and there was lots of availability everywhere. As you sit on the beach admiring the clear blue water, pelicans are diving to catch fish. 5 minutes with lovely Owen on the hotel speedboat gets you out onto the reef for snorkelling, the full 1/2 day round the coast was brilliant fun.

There are 3 restaurants, but only 2 max are open at any time. The food is very good although the menus would improve if they were rotated more often. But even so we never got bored in 10 days, and we only had meals we really enjoyed.

Without being super-luxurious or huge, the rooms have everything you would expect and are very comfortable indeed. The way they are kept in terms of updating towels, etc is great.

The staff are REALLY friendly; they are a joy. We went to get married, so a special shout-out for Mandie, the Blue Waters wedding co-ordinator; she is a great personality and awesome by really taking charge of (a) getting all the required paperwork together and authorised in advance; (b) the logistics; and (c) making the day even more special than you had hoped, just by being there! We could not have conceived of a more beautiful romantic place to get married than the the Blue Waters gazebo.

In summary, Blue Waters is a really perfect paradise. It's not flash, it's just an understated beautiful place that we would go back to as often as possible. The place and the people made our wedding so special.

This is paradise! Everything was super, the service, our room, the resort landscaping and the food. The service was perfect and very personal, housekeeping, reception, concierge and dining host soon knew our name and greeted us like friends. Our room was very quiet, overlooking the ocean, bathroom had plenty of space for everything and a nice balcony.
The resort had lots of chairs and cabanas so there was no shortage of resting opportunities, throughout the resort area small spaces in addition to the usual location like beach and pool. The resort is well kept, flowers everywhere.
Breakfast buffet is very rich and warm items are also super. Dinner options also great (we were on bed and breakfast plan with a la cart dinner).
Overall, a very relaxing vacation for us, the only issue is the distance from our home in California to Antigua, otherwise we would come back every year!

Some nice touches. Cold towels at lunch time at The reef. Staff generally pleasant and helpful.
Resort well kept in general, gardens and surroundings worked on daily.
We stayed for 2 weeks. The menu choices are very limited to only 2 restaurants open each evening one of which menu doesn't change just a special of the day that changes.
Towels not always replenished in the rooms and toiletries not refilled...
If you want a long beach this is not the one for you!
This resort is on its own away from any shops/bars/restaurants.
Actually missed having a buffet style breakfast to choose what to have - you have to order.
Beware - after we checked out the charge for lunch was over $100 us. For a sandwich and burger with 2 soft drinks and 2 beers, considering the cost of the holiday i think this was not necessary.
Attention to detail in the rooms could be better.

Lovely location on the north coast of Antigua. Had a wonderful relaxed week at Blue Waters, would definitely go again but feel that in these days of raised customer service there are a few areas where the hotel really need to improve. The large majority of staff are wonderful but you feel that a small handful can’t really be bothered. One example - When we initially asked for late checkout we were told it was unlikely to be available and they could not guarantee another room for our use for a shower etc before our departure. We asked another member of staff an hour later and she was delighted to say that we could stay in our room beyond the checkout time. The hotel needs some maintenance, broken elements at the bottom of some of the pools and very rusty handrails down to the beach, cracked mirror in the bathroom and dodgy shower door. Housekeeping rarely cleaned up dirty glasses from the night before etc. One issue that was very poor was the lack of hot water in the evening if you had a shower at what was obviously peak time!
Fully recommend the boat trips, the guys could not look after you any better.
The reef bar at the beach is
great and Palm restart also good when in a la Carte format, but we are not big fans of buffet style. I’d look at other hotels before booking again, but had a wonderfully relaxed week.

We were part of a family and friends group to celebrate our dear friends Anne & Adys’ 30th Wedding Anniversary Vow Renewals.
From the moment we arrived we were greeted by Nicole who gave us beautifully scented cold flannels to cool us down after our long journey from the UK and USA followed by a cool refreshing drink. Throughout the 10 days that followed Nicole made sure as our concierge for the Cove Villa that everything was as perfect as it could possibly be, from the Tour of the beautiful island of Antigua to arranging the incredible Wedding Day Vow Renewal Ceremony along with Mandie the celebrant who brought joy and laughter to the day. Also, the private charter of a catamaran, where the hotel prepared a feast of a picnic to have on board whilst we watched the sun set on the stunning azure blue waters of the Caribbean Sea.
Our rooms were impeccable, tastefully decorated and with views of the ocean and perfect air conditioning to keep you cool .
The whole resort from the delicious , first class cuisine in all the restaurants, the beach bar and cocktail bar made our stay so memorable, special thanks to Quincy, Stephen , Jaxier ( who has great dance moves ) Gavi, Keva and Rachel. Also, a special mention to John who was in charge of the gardens in the resort , he has a fantastic team who work hard making the the resort gardens as spectacular as they are , the garden tour was very informative.
We were all so honoured to be a part of this special celebration of our dearest friends and we couldn’t imagine anywhere else in the world that would have given us the most incredible memories to last a lifetime.
You made our dreams a reality and we will treasure our memories forever of the most magical time spent with our closest friends in The Blue Waters Resort . One day we will return ❤️

Just returned from a fantastic week at Blue Waters. On arrival we received a cold towel, a cocktail & a warm welcome, the resort is beautiful & the views are stunning. Our hotel room was spacious with a great view and our room was always spotlessly clean thank you to the lovely Roggett. Food in all three restaurants was great & the staff were all friendly & attentive. The named, metal water bottles were a lovely touch & the many water stations around the resort were never empty.
The bar staff were all lovely as were the cocktails - special mention to Pearle & Tramaine. I visited the Spa in it’s stunning location and it was the best hot stone massage I’ve ever had. The grounds, pool areas and the beach were always clean, tidy & well looked after. Julia & Nicole always came and chatted to see how we were enjoying our visit. All in all a wonderful week of relaxing in the most stunning resort being looked after by incredible staff. Thank you, we look forward to staying with you again & will definitely recommend Blue Waters to our family & friends.

The Beach at Blue Waters is a fine sand beach. I have not used a seaplane, so I don’t know how close they can come to load you.

Hi Sally, there is a choice of red, white and rose wines by the glass, and within that you can opt for a grape variety. Also sparking. I wouldn’t say the wines were top-notch, but perfectly drinkable

So sorry, I don't recall. Suggest you give the front desk a ring. They are very responsive.
