Firstly, I would like to say by reading the older reviews, it is obviously that these apartments have had a lot of renovations since the last reviews. We are a family of 4 and have been coming to Barbados for many years and have stayed at many hotels on the island. The Nautilus now has a wonderful and very under rated restaurant under a marquee on the beach in front of the apartments. The food is good and the staff are lovely and friendly. I would like to specifically mention Amberly. The apartment was furnished well. Kitchen has all the amenities as we did cook breakfast a lot. There is a big fridge. The apartment was always very clean and clean linen, towels and beach towels thanks to Nicole. You are located on one of the best beaches being within Carlisle Bay as it’s the best for swimming, snorkelling and long walks. Plenty of food stalls with great food just off the beach. My only improvements would be air con in the sitting room (currently a fan), a hairdryer would be useful and use of a washing machine for longer stays would be great. The restaurant food and bar is great and would be good to be open longer. We had a lovely stay and will be returning hopefully next year to stay back here…

Due to a situation beyond our control we were forced into looking for a 58 day stay on short notice. To our surprise and now we understand why!! The Nautilus on the most beautiful beach in Barbados had availability. We were told the place was closed for a year for renovations. We now understand it was more like an outdoor facelift and a change of furniture. The beds are new and comfortable the living area is sparsely furnished with the most uncomfortable furniture ever made. The kitchen has a fridge that is good for drinks and small quantity of groceries but will not hold a weeks worth of food if you intend on cooking your own meals. The kitchen faucet is circa 1950 no pressure on the hot water side and no hot water no matter how long you wait. Management said they would try to fix it but never succeeded. The stove is gas and so old it was not even as good as a camping stove. The oven was a joke and we suspect it maybe leaking carbon monoxide. If you are snow birds and intend on making this home for an extended stay look elsewhere. If you are coming for a week or less looking to be on the most beautiful beach in Barbados and a reasonably comfortable bed , a place to keep some drinks or make a coffee and you plan to eat out and be in this place just to sleep this maybe the place for you.…

Just returned from a week staying at Nautilus Beach apartments. Excellent location, right on the beach. Beach bar and restaurant now open on the beach (Bayside Bistro). Food and drinks good. Sun beds and umbrellas free for those staying on site. Beach towels provided as well. Convenient to get anywhere by hire car (car park there) or bus stop not far. Aircon in bedroom but not in living room. Balcony, well fitted kitchen and tv with Netflix etc. not the most modern of apartments but location and staff make up for it and room was clean. Would definitely recommend. There was some renovation work going on but didn’t affect our stay.

I arrived in the beginning of the evening and had a quick check-in by the guard. The apartment was large enough for a single or even two people. Well equipped kitchen and a table for four and a lot of chairs. Probably for a party or so as there were a few in the area on some nights (Karaoke and life music on the beach). A simple balcony direct at the beach. Ideal during the evening or in the early morning when you want to swim or walk on the beach. The daily cleaning was very good in the room. The shower was warm but the towels did not dry all too good (though they were clean and replaced regularly). The total outlook of the building was not all too new but they have sufficient parking places. The location is not only at the beach but close to a bus stop and some 20 minutes walking to Bridgetown alongside the beach. I needed to pay for the room but the reception is basically only manned from 9 to 5 and I had to be at meetings elsewhere. Next, the apartment only had air-conditioning in the bed room so the apartment was mostly warm when you returned or woke up in the morning. You needed to open the door to the balcony and the room to have wind go through the room.…

The beach was absolutely beautiful and great for small children. We were steps away from top scuba site on island to sunken ships - we swam out on own and was great fun. Rented car and apartments had free parking which is a bonus. There was a problem with sand ants which is typical and problem was taken care of. Highly recommend.

Stayed here for 9 days as a solo traveller whilst in Barbados. Immediately on Carlisle Bay and easy access into Bridgetown. Grab a passing minibus service north to Bridgetown or south as far as Oistins and beyond! Cleaned daily by friendly and accommodating staff, with an excellent check-in/out service. Would definitely stay again.

I almost don't want to write this review. Reason why is because I don't want the availability to be tight when I return. Also I am a Front Desk Agent at a 4 star Boutique Hotel in Manhattan for 8 years, so I am impressed by their service. I was born and raised in Barbados in a house 10 minutes away, so I am very familiar with the area and the beach so I felt right at home. They gave us a gorgeous room facing the beach, the apartments are superrr clean, Staff is beyond nice and helpful, Perinne & the other receptionist, forgot her name. The housekeeping Supervisor Nicole even recognized me immediately even though she hasn't seen me since I was a little girl. Cheryl & Ansonia the room attendants are extremely pleasant. Everything is clean, spacious and convenient. Trevor the overnight guard made me feel safe the entire stay. He is very good at securing and observing anything happening around the apartments so no need to fear anything here. Thank you Trevor for our interesting late night conversations. The owner Nicholas is a very very very nice man and turned out to be a childhood friend of my mother. I will definitely be returning here whenever I visit home again. I am currently writing this on my last day, sitting on the balcony, while listening to the waves crash on the shore and watching people exercise on the beach. I LOVE IT! A little advice! Do not do heavy food shopping at the Gas Staion closest to the Apartments. They're prices are higher due to it being 24 hours & its close to hotels. Cheaper to visit a supermarket. Coffy's restaurant and Bar directly opposite the Apartments is absolutely DELICIOUS! Everyday is different food, so definitely hit that spot up. Thank you Nautilus for a great stay. See yall soon!…

My family and I stayed at the Nautilus apartments for a week, we had the beach front rooms which were amazing. The apartments themselves are not fancy or particularly extravagant but they are spacious, clean, and in an ideal location right on the beach front! The staff were amazing, so friendly and helpful. One of the staff members, Tony, actually brought us some fresh coconuts in the morning...it doesn't get much better than that! For the affordable price and spacious rooms, I don't think you can beat the Nautilus apartments...if I ever return to this beautiful country I will certainly hope to stay here again.

We were a little afraid that our high expectations from our visit last year wouldn't be met this visit. Wow, were we wrong! This visit was even better because we knew our way around, and the Nautilus was as clean and convenient as ever. Although the staff was different, they were just as friendly and helpful. They arranged taxis, and a personal tour of the island giving us several options. We chose a personal 4 hour around the island tour with T C Taxi Service. Because it was a taxi, and not a tour, we didn't know what to expect--just a driver or someone who would also give a tour. We couldn't have been more pleased, when Trevor, our driver/owner, took out a map and showed us exactly where we were going to go and what we were going to see. For four hours, we learned about the history, flora, fauna, and sites of Barbados. Trevor welcomed our questions, and there were very few that he didn't know the answer, but said he would research it for future use. Back to the Nautilus. There is a kitchenette in the room that is really functional. We took the ZR vans ($4 BBD) to the grocery store. There are several, but I like the Save More across from the Fish Market the best. If you like fresh fish, you have to go to the market. You pick your fish, and they clean and dress it right there, There also is a gas station/convenience store about 1/4 mile to the right of the Nautilus. The maids cleaned our room every day to make sure that any sand we brought in was gone. And you can leave the bug spray at home, aside from an occasional fly, there are no bugs. The beach is 20 ft. away from the rooms, is clean white sand, and is never crowded. The water is crystal clear, fairly shallow, and not rough. I saw a sea turtle my first day in the water, and there is snorkeling near by. We were there for New Year's and the fireworks were incredible. Our view from our beach was the best. What a fantastic vacation. We didn't want to leave. Next year, we're going to stay two weeks!…

This facility is right on Carlisle Bay. This is the place all of the tour operators go for the snorkeling tours. You can swim in crystal clear water right outside the hotel. Go down the beach a bit and you can swim out to a couple of ship wrecks that have turtles and many fish. The apartments themselves were dated but kept up very well. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. For the price you cannot beat this place. One thing to note is that there are not many options for restaurants right outside the apartment so you will have to walk a ways or take a bus or cab. Don't feel hesitant to take a bus. There seems to be one every couple of minutes. They cost a couple of bucks per trip.
