The hotel is rated as 3 star, 1.5 would be a generous estimate. We stayed here at the beginning and end of outer Cuba trip, on two different rooms, Silla and Alicante. One at the side of the hotel and the other at the front. If you want to sleep do not get a room at the front, it is...

Best location in Havana vieja, within short walking distance to most attractions Havana vieja has to offer and yet in a quiet and pleasant location. Charming colonial building arranged around a central patio which accommodates a nice restaurant. The hotel is tastefully renovated, not to perfection , reserving all past character and charm. High ceiling, painted walls, lovely patio etc....

Nice place, centric for a little break while in Old Havana. Building, decorations are the most attractive in the place. Breeze that runs is like water in the dessert. Paella (I bought the one which won prizes according to them) is fair but not a great deal. Prices are high compared to the Cuban private sector...

We stopped here for a beer to get out of the heat. Tried the lobster paella, was delicious. Nice clean restaurant, service was good. They had a small band playing, bit loud but music was great. Lovely setting.

We wanted to try all kinds of accommodation on our trip to Cuba, including Hotels, casa and the government run Hostals. Since it was only 20 CUC cheaper per day than the Iberostar, and based on the Lonely Planet review we considered Hostal Valencia a safe bet. We were wrong! We were shown to our very strange 'suite' through a...

We stop there just for food. The paella was very good (and very hot!!) and the service was perfect. The place is very nice with a nice patio and suggestive live music. Prince: around 15 cuc per person. (Paella is 10) Food suggestion: cuban paella

Myself and my daughter stayed in the Hostal Valencia in March this year. It was our first time in Cuba and wanted to experience authentic accommodation. Hostal Valencia did not disappoint. This is a beautiful old renovated colonial house with rooms arranged around a courtyard. The location is fantastic right in the heart of the old town. Our room was...

This was our 2nd trip to Cuba. This Hostal is truly wonderful, it has only a small number of rooms, so early booking is essential. Our room was called Alzira the doors to the room are so big you could ride a horse through it! Very spacious, with a corner balcony to observe Cuban life. The dining area in the...

Upon arrival for the first night of my honeymoon we were given a room with twin beds despite my previous requests upon booking. Things then went from bad to worse! We were advised here were no rooms left and we could maybe change the following day. He room was also dirty, quite old and the side board all chipped!! I...

14 rooms in a restored old building. The ground floor is reception and a court yard you can eat in in the evening and listen to the wonderful three piece band. The rooms are off the first floor terrace and it has a wonderful feel as you climb the large staircase. A bit rustic but this is Cuba. Room was...
