On my first visit to Havana I ran across this property, and on my second vist stayed here for three nights. I loved this hotel. The included breakfast was excellent. It had something for everyone. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The location is excellent. Our room was on the top floor, and opened onto the roof-top bar/lounge area....

While we didn't stay at the Hotel Raquel on our visit to Cuba, I hope that on our next trip to Havana, we will book a room in this gorgeous 25 room hotel. You walk into a very ornate lobby that makes you wonder whether you are in Jerusalem instead of Havana! The gift shop is filled with Jewish gifts,...

This unique and rather beautiful hotel is absolutely in the heart of old Havana, and we loved it ! more so than the four other hotels we have stayed in, in old Havana. The staff are friendly and the decor original baroque and art nouveau with spacious bedrooms.. The roof top views are lovely, especially at dawn. You ordered your...

Fantastic building with art deco throughout - stained glass skylight in central foyer, figurines on pedestals, wonderful tile work and comfortable furniture. The front desk and concierge staff were very helpful and friendly. We stayed 3 nights and it was a great welcome to Havana and the character of old town. The air conditioning in the room made things very...

Stayed in the Raquel for 3 nights and loved the place. Yes it is not Dubai 5 star but that was its appeal. Art Deco style throughout, room was fine on 2nd floor, bars and staff were fine, breakfast OK, good position near a beautiful square with bars and restaurants. This is Cuba so chill out and enjoy the place...

Located near trendy shops and restaurants, this hotel has been extensively renovated and offers a bit more luxury than most. The bar is excellent, and the food is better than average. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, museums and plazas

Four friends spent the night at the Rachel last week. Beautiful building in the heart of Old Havana. The room was completely without comforts. Our room had no window and one very low wat bulb on a high ceiling. Very hard to see. While drinks on the rooftop terrace were great, breakfast was poor. Great location but I'm sure we...

We have stayed at a homestay and at 2 Hotels in Havana: Santander and Raquel. By far the better hotel is Santander. While the rooms are bigger at Raquel, this is a hotel which has few rooms and service is absent. The breakfast offering at Raquel is Soviet-era. The eggs were suspicious and the bread was stale.

We came for the pina coladas, atmosphere and view - wonderful! The service is quick and the prices are reasonable, not to mention the walk through the beautiful hotel to get to the bar. We went twice as we liked it so much.

The hotel is grand and gorgeous with huge columns in the foyer, statues... if it were in England it would cost three times as much! The staff are lovely and welcoming, we had a lovely receptionist, and the atmosphere is very calm and modest. The rooms we had were gorgeous and very traditional - yes, there is peeling paint and...
