Four friends spent the night at the Rachel last week. Beautiful building in the heart of Old Havana. The room was completely without comforts. Our room had no window and one very low wat bulb on a high ceiling. Very hard to see. While drinks on the rooftop terrace were great, breakfast was poor. Great location but I'm sure we...

We have stayed at a homestay and at 2 Hotels in Havana: Santander and Raquel. By far the better hotel is Santander. While the rooms are bigger at Raquel, this is a hotel which has few rooms and service is absent. The breakfast offering at Raquel is Soviet-era. The eggs were suspicious and the bread was stale.

We came for the pina coladas, atmosphere and view - wonderful! The service is quick and the prices are reasonable, not to mention the walk through the beautiful hotel to get to the bar. We went twice as we liked it so much.

The hotel is grand and gorgeous with huge columns in the foyer, statues... if it were in England it would cost three times as much! The staff are lovely and welcoming, we had a lovely receptionist, and the atmosphere is very calm and modest. The rooms we had were gorgeous and very traditional - yes, there is peeling paint and...

Such a beautiful building with the glass domed roof and high ceilings. Rooms are clean and we loved their character but there were some peeling patches of plaster and the taps wobbled when you turned them on. The staff working in the hotel were great - really kind and helpful - especially the lovely receptionist. Loved the roof top bar...

Centrally located hotel in old Havanna close to cruise harbour with nice ambiance and history as a former bank. Choose room away from street very noisy if facing the street. Beds not so comfortable we hade to change room after 1 night. Roof terrass is very nice in the evening for a late drink or coffee. Breakfast is plentyful but...

Can't fail to be impressed with the old charm of this building -wonderful stained glass roof and hotel is rammed full of antiquities. Due to its marble floors and galleried landings its noisy though so take ear plugs if you're a light sleeper! Lovely roof terrace is beautiful-large basic bedrooms -as with most things Cuban, the bathroom had seen better...

Fantastic location right in the centre of old town. Loved the rooftop bar, the decor and rooms. Breakfast was poor by Cuban standards but everything else was just lovely. Staff were always helpful, warm and friendly.

Stayed here for Five nights in December during Castro mourning period. A lovely hotel in historic Havana. The building itself is stunning and rooms are spacious and clean. The only disappointment is the breakfast room. The food is laid out from 7am to 10am with no fly covers and open windows! It is difficult to find clean crockery, cutlery, glasses...

A delightful building architecturally and ideally positioned to explore old Havana. The staff were very helpful and friendly. The hotel has a bar and 24 hour reception with English speaking staff. There is also a restaurant which serves breakfast and reasonably priced lunch and dinner. The shower warns that water is 50C. I think they have mixed that up with...
