awesome spot a bit outside of the center. peppe (owner of school) knows everything about waves and wind in the area. he couldnt be more helpful with kitting, surfing and also other activities. the casa particulare he is in is perfect for single travelers, couples or groups. eligio, the owner, and his wife were very helpful and friendly as well. if you go kiting in cuba, go there. thanks for having us.
I had a wonderful time at Cuba Kite Village. Good communication via WhatsApp with Pepe that organised also my transfer from the airport. I stayed 1 week in a pension with Eligio e Teresa who are really friendly ! The house was clean and comfortable. I recommend you take the breakfast and diner, very good. The kite school is at their house. I was a beginner arriving and in 5 days I am now able to ride on the sea. Pepe is a really good instructor. He is always calm and try to find all the pedagogic ways to make you do progress every day. The equipment is good and we have radio to get instruction while in the water. He paid great attention to safety. He is very friendly and always willing to help ! Guanabo is small town typically Cuban. Only few tourists. You can find small markets and restaurants/bars at walking distance. You can enjoy the Cuban real life and it’s only 20’ from La Havana Center. I deeply recommend this place to go kiting in Cuba …
I travelled to Cuba alone and stayed at this place for 10 nights in November 2017. It was quite windy and 6 of 10 days I could ride with 12 m2 kite - this was the main reason of travel. The house is designed for 6-7 people, it has kitchen and two bathrooms, all in good conditions. No wifi is in radius of 5 km (as usual in Cuba). The price was 25 eur per night (additional breakfast for 5 usd is recommended), equipment store and launch/land assistance is included, which is perfect. The house and kite spot this year moved to Tarara residence, so actual photos are attached to this post (second line from the beach). The kite spot just in front of the house with good place on the grass to land the kite. Shore break might be hard for beginners to start (not a big problem). I was welcomed and spent very good time with the owners of this place. We did short kite trips together using their car, downwinded together, went to Havana etc. That's something which is different from the regular kite school/spot due to people who love what they are doing. I'd highly recommended to visit this place for kiting and discovering the real Cuba. It'd be nice to come again.…
The place has recently moved a few km west, at Tarara Residence. Peppe is an enthusiastic host that will be always helpful, he might be kitesurfing with you or drive you to local spots for better conditions. Very beatiful spot, but don't forget to try a kite trip! Not too much to do in the nightime, but going to La Habana by bus or taxi takes only 20 mins. Strongly advised for kiters (or yoga practitioners) who don't like all-inclusive resorts!
The building is directly on on the beach and from the rooms you can get a wonderful view. Perfect kite spot when the day is windy. It's managed by friendly Italian people that are very nice and can help you during your stay in Cuba. It's located 20 minutes far away from Habana city center (by taxi or bus). you can eat awesome seafood in the restaurants on the beach.
