So to clear title of this review. It is one of the worst hotels I have been to and I have been to a lot of them. I will try to start with positive things because there wasn't that many of them. Good things: Beach is nice but it is dirty and they do not take great care of it.... More

We spent last week at the Club Kawama hotel. We were shown to room 801. This room is NOT habitable for humans or animals because of the excessive mold contained in the walls. In a developed country this room would be closed to everyone not wearing masks and breathing equipment. It is a dangerous situation in particular to people such... More

18th time to Cuba in 7 years, 7th time to Club Kawama. You get from your trip what you put into it...Kawama has rough areas but being the oldest in Varadero, it still holds up pretty good. Staff is amazingly friendly, coffee bar and Ivan at the lobby are the best, along with the snack bar. Everything that we've posted... More

We just returned from our trip to Cuba on Saturday. Had the most amazing time. The hotel is old but charming in it's own way. The grounds are beautiful, the rooms could use some work but we only showered and slept for a few hours so didn't bother us at all. We did have a nice balcony that looked onto... More

This hotel is in a good location, short taxi/bus ride to clubs and shopping. Beach is very nice, pool is excellent. Entertainment is average. The hotel is 86 years old and some of it is still in keeping with historic Cuban architecture. When the fares are low, it's good value for the money. Staff are very friendly and make you... More

Stayed 9 nights and had reasonably low expectations as Cuban standards are generally very low. The room was ok, nothing fancy but aircon, tv and others worked ok, all old and noisy but worked ok. Size of the room was very good and exceeded my expectations, with only 6 rooms in our building it was really nice and quiet. The... More

While the rooms were not like something you would find here in Canada, I only slept in the room for a few hours a day and the rest of the time was spent on a beautiful beach, a large clean pool, or by the 24 hour bar. The staff were more than accommodating, gave us a room steps from the... More

The grounds are beautiful. But the rooms definitely need a major overhaul. You have to pay for a safe and only get 2 towels at check-in. We slept in the same sheets all week There is 3 staff that should not be there: Vivian (at reception) Yasser (the bellboy) and Alain(Lobby bar)They deserve to be at a 5 star.
