This resort try’s their best with what they have . We where in building 3 at first and no hot water but you know , we accepted it and the water is not ice cold like in Canada so we dealt with it . Over 30 Celsius everyday sure helps . We then had to move to building 1, where we had the beautiful sea view . The cleaning staff gave us towels , water and when asked they changed the sheets . We left them gifts every day and where sweet helpful girls . Kierran ( not sure of spelling ) at the reception desk was fantastic when arranging a room for us . Moises , our favourite bartender is such a great person and great service. Even though he was sick , he had a smile every day !. The servers in the dining room are wonderful, friendly and work really hard to please
The food is different than what we eat but again they try their best . We enjoyed the snack shack and the a lacarte dinners where good !
I recommend this resort for the price , it’s us 3 girls that travelled , 2 of us it’s our 2nd time , one girl her 5 th time at this resort !
Great time , 10 days in Cuba , beautiful vacation !

I can't believe some reviewers. If you want a 5* resort pay more and go there. Allegro is a pretty decent place, a bit old but for the price we paid we got even more (around 58 euros a day for the 2 of us, with a sea view). The room is clean, the beach is beautiful, the beach bar is also great. I'm a vegetarian and I wasn't hungry at all, my spouse says the meat was great (fish, poultry, pork and chicken-all of it). The pools look nice but no one uses them because the beach is so great. Chairs are also included in the price, as well as drinks and food at the beach. The drink selection is modest but ok, You can also choose out of 6-7 kinds of coffee. Yes, sometimes you have to wait a few minutes to get served but it's ok. Our bed was huuuuuge.

Sometimes you can see drunk Russians who embarrass themselves but I don't see how is that a hotel's fault? Sometimes the guests are terrible, they drink the Irish coffee at 9am and because it takes time to make it and to put Bailey's in it they make the line, it's not the stuff fault.

If you're on a budget or you just don't want to spend a fortune on a hotel this is the right place for you. I would most certainly come back.

This was our first trip to Cuba, as well to an All Inclusive. We were disappointed in the experience at the hotel. Firstly we arrived at 2.pm and were told that we could not get the room key until 4.00 PM. At 4.00 PM there were about 80 other guests at the desk all trying to get their room key. The hotel says there is a safe, but ours was locked and when I went to the desk to ask to use the safe they told me they don't work. So no safe. The phone does not work, so I could not even call to the desk to ask about the safe. There are no hand towels, no floor mat and our towels were only changed time during our 6 night stay. We were in building 4 which was a long hike from the lobby. We were on 4400 and pushed floor 4 to get to our room but 4 was actually 5, so we had to go down one floor. YOu would think the desk could explain on check in that 3 is 4. Also the noise from the hallway was so very loud in our room, and people are very ignorant when in the hall about others in their room. Upon check in we were given a map, but nothing was explained to us. The Italian restaurant was closed. We saw a little restaurant called the CRiolla ( cuban ) a La carte but had no idea it was included and that you need to make a reservation, we managed to get in on our last night and it was very good. I don't know if anything was included in water activities or if it was extra, the website says snorkel, canoe , kayak.. etc... but I have no idea where you would access these. The Russians were very rude and have no manners, even the hotel staff get irritated with them. There is clearly a line at the bar but people have no respect and just bud in front, the bar tenders should not serve them. The staff was very nice and the theatre shows were very good as well. Oh and the beach is a 2 block walk, not noted in the hotel info. I would not recommend hotel to anyone.

The best and only advice I can give you is "Don't go here" Spend your money on any place but here!
Room: the first room was in Building 4 on the third floor, at night the thump thump thump for local bars, the mold smell was overwhelming, the air conditioner would not work even after repair, no hydro for one entire day we had to move the mold and the heat we could not breathe.
Second room building 2 ground floor backside.noise free, the air conditioner would not turn off, even with the two dirty, musty brown blankets we were cold at night, no fridge, often no hot water, the bed was terrible and I can usually sleep on any bed. I would wake up with sore spots from the springs.
Building 1 still has only a dirty service elevator for guests to use. It has been over a year!
Food: Absolutely the worst! I am one of those people that will gladly gobble down anything but what they were trying to feed us was just wrong. Veggies and fruit were sparse so a week of cucumbers with semi rancid olive oil dressing resulted in many bathroom trips. Eggs always plenty of eggs..and shells in the scrambled ones. Cuban punch is the only sweet drink they make that is actually very good.

Service: The cleaning lady swept and made the beds daily. Never a change in sheets, blankets or towels for the entire time we were there. No bath mats, hand towels or face cloths. You must take your shower whenever you check and find hot water because otherwise, you will be having a cold shower.

Location: AND this is how they get people to come here. The Beatles bar and Calla 62. The beach is lovely but crowded with rude people that play their music way way too loud. Gotta get up around 6:30 am to take your towel down to the beach and claim a lounge chair otherwise you will be sitting in the sand. There were chairs all around us all day long that no one used but had their towel over it. Because they were using the other chairs they saved that were out in the sun. Shame Shame.
I say let the Russians have this resort, they dont seem to mind. But then again they are up at 6:30 saving the chairs and waiting at the doors for the buffet to open so they can get all the served food ( that they leave laying on their plates). Shoving you away from the bar, blaring their Russian rap and being rude to the staff.

This is an old hotel. It is also a cheap price. With that in mind, if you want a 5* then I suggest people pay the price and stop writing reviews with complaints. I travel alone and feel very safe here. The staff are fabulous and lots of fun. I have a great breakfast with my sweet rool, fresh omlett, fresh fruit and awesome coffee. Some days I stay for supper, some I don't because I found a couple great lobster places in town. The point is, we are going to Cuba, respect where you are and know things like hot water sometimes can be down. A beautiful country with beautiful beautiful people. I choose to stay here because of price, staff, location and just all around great times. When this darn virus is over, myself and many other people I have met over the years while there will return. We have remained in touch are will all arrive for the same week. We love you and cannot wait to be back. PS: Say hi to Vicki, Building 4, 3rd floor. Let her know I am going to be back!!!

When we checked in the hotel, we didn't get any information about services and what's included. For example, we found out after two days, that there was snack bar in beach and we got to know about a la carte restaurants when we had already checked out.

Our room was ugly and dirty and smelled bad. Air conditioning setup system was broken so we couldn't change the temperature. Only good thing in our room was that shower worked very well.

Food in buffet was horrible. Most of the waiters wasn't very pleasant and we had to wait service for long time. There were lots of different kind of food but taste was bad. For example yogurt looked and tasted like they had been put water into it. Fruits were raw and cheese was slack.

I wouldn't go again.

You would think as a returning guest we would have deserved better. We have sent friends and family here as well as been to this resort 5 consecutive years. The last was the last time. January 2019. Our room had a very bad leak in the ceiling of the bathroom thst flooded the room when it rains. 1st time not so bad but the 2nd time was a lot more water that went all the way out into the hall. My husband went to the front desk to request some help. A housekeeper came and was clearly surprised at how much water there was and suggested we get another room. Keep in mind the ceiling was starting to fall in. Went back to the front desk and the women was quite rude in telling us that we weren't being moved. I then went to the desk with the intention of calling Westjet. It was then she suggested we move 1 floor up directly above the room we were in. The ceiling in there was even worse. Was given yet another room that was much better. This is 2 hours later. I know that things in Cuba are not the same as other countries but this was unacceptable and for that reason we will never be back there.

What a place arrived in the evening, helpful friendly young female receptionist, room ok basic 3 star, but clean. Food on buffet was not replenished when i was there and very limited with warm runny"ice" cream also offerred. No cutlery on tables, food on floor etc. no drinks service, warm eating area, queue for some bbq chicken but long wait and given virtually no food - really terrible - just thrown on plate. If you were black you got extra meat. saw this is action on at least 2 occasions, so beware. bar service long queue , to be served warm watered down beer in plastic cup tasted like lemonade so just poured it in plants outside. Eating area had view of empty swimming pool!! they had 1 other pool with water in. Had water bottle in room , lot of communal areas sticky and had odd whiff of sick thrown in. Really unpleasant place not far from the beach (Melia las Antillas, all inclusive, just up the road, cost approx $10 more a night and there was no comparison) This place was generally no service, terrible food quality, terrible hygiene , terrible food selection, and terrible drinks from the few I experienced. You must be pretty desperate to go here to relax and try and have fun(doubt this is possible here judging by all the miserable faces I saw!!! and my personal experience although brief you get a good feel)
cheap and nasty ... even by Cuban standards

Feb 6-20 , many trips to this hotel prior to shut down , many trips to others whilst Palma was down . Staff as always pleasant and was great to see some of my favorite faces . Special mention to Janet in the lobby bar , always a smile and great service . Hotel was clean , entirely new pool area at main pool . Beach access was non existant as all guests were directed to use Arenas Blancas or Solimar beaches . Food was as expected and repetitous however breakfast and lunch were available at Arenas Blancas for Palma guests as well as all bar services . Shows were also accessible to Palma guests at both Arenas Blancas and Solimar . Palmas new pool and limited crowd made for perfect afternoon leisure and entertainment. All guests were housed in only building one , I did have some room issues ( 3 rooms in 2 weeks ) but nothing serious and could happen at any resort . All around for the price you can't go wrong , perfect location , yes a walk to the beach but I find it shorter than most hotels down peninsula ! Would I return ? Yes , arriving again tomorrow Aril 3 for 2 weeks and will update with any new information on changes to the above . Both trips , $2700 all in for 2 , no baggage fees with AT and great flight times out of TO .

This was my 8th visit to this hotel and I'm happy to say this visit was the best! The food was really good, the entertainment was really good, and people and workers are as great as they've ever been!
The only things that could be improved is getting the AC back into the buffet area. And it's not because I had concerns about the food spoiling, I never saw any of that in 7 days. But their soup was so good this trip I would have multiple bowls, and it would make me sweat so much because it was very hot soup. The beef/green peppers and pork on the flat top was very good, as were the omlettes every morning.
They have bologna, salami and ham which I would use to make an assorted sandwich every meal. 😋 And the bread! Its always the best I've ever had and they have quite the selection. The desserts were good too!
My maid Barbie was so good at her job amd is so nice it was always a pleasure to chat with her. The girls in the lobby bar were amazing and worked very hard all day. They deserve a raise!
The swim up bar is run by Tatica and Roberto and Yassir, and they're all great people and quick to get people their drinks. The daily bingo was a nice touch, and the prize is a bottle of Rrrrrrrrum!
The areas were all clean and well maintained, and the pool bar has been redone with new tiling and it looks great!

And please make sure to try the A LA Carte restaurant and I highly urge you to get the porkchop. It's stuffed with ham and cheese and it's breaded and so crispy. Best food I've ever had in Cuba.
There are a lot of new food kiosks surrounding the hotel, and we tried the fried chicken (7/10) and the tacos (9/10).

Please make your reservations at this hotel and I'm positive you will have a good time. The showers were always hot with great pressure, and it's worth it for the people alone.
