I spent 1 week in Playa de Oro - March 2017. The hotel's gem is their staff, most of them always had a big smile, everyone from the front desk ladies, servers, entertainment group and housekeeping staff was willing to help you out. So when you go there, be generous when tipping as they truly deserve it. I found there...

I took a family of five, two adults, two young adults and an 80 year old mother in-law. We had two rooms that were ideally located. I read the other reviews on this site and was quite concerned about what to expect. Having traveled extensively this place compares positively with other middle range hotels in the Caribbean. The location is...

Food was amazing. Jean Luc you rock!!!!!! I cannot believe how much we ate and how much we enjoyed every morsel of food. Thank you. Amenities are plentiful, entertainment in the pm located in the lobby a bonus (except for the smoke - we don't smoke so it was irritating), coffee bistro awesome, our room 1st night was a disaster...

My friend Caroline and I really enjoyed our stay at this resort during our march break. The beach was beautiful, the food was good, the staff were incredible. We also met great people. I would go back. 😉

I just spent two glorious weeks in the Cuba sunshine at this resort. It is a charming smaller resort with only two buildings that house the rooms. The resort itself is kept immaculate by their amazing staff. I have never seen a resort that has been kept so clean with someone always sweeping, mopping or picking up. We loved our...

This was my first vacation anywhere since a high school trip to Florida 16 years prior. My cousins had travelled to this hotel a few times and had good experiences so I figured, with priorities being nice weather, a beach, and free drinks, I'd give it a shot and I was not disappointed. This may have been due to a...

We consider ourselves seasoned travellers, having done the all-inclusive beach holiday for 13 years in a row, in Jamaica, the Dominican Republic and Mexico. This was our first trip to Cuba, and even though I thought I’d done extensive research…and more importantly, had reasonable expectations, this resort was a bit disappointing for our tastes. I was warned about anything less...

My husband and I went to the Play de Oro the in March of 2017. We have traveled to Mexico many times, but I wanted to go somewhere different so we decided to try Varadero. The hotel was rated a four star and so we had high expectations. The lobby was unimpressive but the room was terrible. I wanted to...

My boyfriend and I visited Varadero from Feb 26-March 6 and had an absolutely lovely holiday. We flew sunwing (will review separately - not impressed!!) and arrived at the hotel around 6:15 am. Our room was ready and we were checked in and up to our room in 10 minutes. We stayed on the second floor and our room was...
