It was a great place to stay! We really enjoyed our time in this house! We are a family of 3, our son is 3 yo, the house was very comfortable, clean and welcoming: with 3 comfy beds so we had plenty space to sleep, clean and big bathroom, nice kitchen with huge fridge, big balcony where we was having our drinks and enjoying the evenings! Location of the house is very good-it’s close to the beach and to a lot of nice restaurants and shops! I should mention the owners: they are very nice and welcoming, actually the best people that we had met in Cuba! The breakfast was delicious with many varieties-our picky eater son was enjoying it!! We will definitely stay in this house when we will return to Varadero!

My wife and I stayed 2 nights and were lucky to get the upstairs room with upstairs patio. Marta and brother could not have been nicer. Brought us coffee upstairs to enjoy the view of the town coming awake before breakfast in the garden area downstairs. Super spacious and clean room, slept great. Easy walk to great swimming beach. The entire town had a scheduled water outage one day and they brought a full bucket of water up to us to help deal with that. Just loved staying here.

Upon our arrival, after travelling approx 5 hours by car from Trinidad - Marta (and her son Javier) were not gracious host, they demanded payment & booking confirmation straightaway...we weren't event shown our room at this stage or even offered a drink.

The apartment is very basic, it has a private bathroom and a small kitchen which was completely unequipped. You don't much privacy at all as the other apartments literary next to each other and they use the space just outside the apartment to serve breakfast. Thankfully the beach is nearby to offer escapism!

We too found many ants and mosquitoes (much more than usual), a one point there were even gecko's!. When I complained to her, I was blamed for having the windows open!

This was the final stray in Cuba as we did a full circle from Habana, it's a complete shame as for me this soured my memories and left a bad taste in my mouth.

The house is in a quiet area, we didn´t find a lot to do there. It feels like a dead zone. For more life, people and some shops (but still not the hotel zone) I recommend to stay around streets 40.
The room itself is very nice, it has a private bathroom and a small kitchen which is great. Nevertheless, when we arrived we found out there were many ants and mosquitos (much more than usually), even though the girl said the room had been cleaned the same day in the morning. However, it seemed it had been untouched for many days if not weeks. On top of it there was a lizard in the room (yes, they like insects) as there are no nets on the windows. We had an anti-mosquito plug in insecticide but it didn´t help to kill the mosquitos. For all these reasons, the very same day of our arrival we decided to find another accomodation. The landlady was very angry and she wanted us to pay 25 CUC even though we hadn´t slept there. We refused to pay and were taking a taxi and during this time she called, I guess her husband and was persuading our taxidriver to tell her where we will be staying. It didn´t feel pleasant at all as she was kind of threatening us. She said mosquitos are normal in Varadero, ok, but in that case why not to put nets. At the end we spent one night in a hotel and the we found a casa particular which HAD the nets (very important!!!).

We had a wonderful stay at Casa Marta Margarita. Marta was very welcoming and helpful throughout our time in Varadero. She doesn't speak a lot of English, and sadly we don't speak much Spanish, but we did manage to communicate enough to get to know her a bit and to ask basic questions re: transportation and such. Our group included 3 couples and we booked the two bedroom apartment as well as one separate room with a private entrance, all on the ground floor and accessible at the rear of Marta's home. There is at least one room located on the second floor, also with a private entrance but we didn't poke around up there so not sure about the layout. The apartment contains two bedrooms (each with a double & single bed), a dining area, kitchenette & shared bathroom (with an great shower!). The third room also contains a double & single bed along with fridge & private en suite bathroom. All bedrooms have air conditioning units (some newer and some older but all functional and cool the rooms quickly). The rooms were cleaned every day and were immaculate. There is a private and shady patio where we enjoyed breakfast each morning and could lounge and have cocktails in the evening. Breakfast costs an additional 5 CUC/person and is prepared by Marta's brother and nephew. It is a standard and hearty breakfast including fresh fruit, juice, coffee, hot milk, eggs, and bread. The casa is centrally located in Varadero, yet far enough away from the mega resorts that we didn't really encounter this crowd. The beach is a 5 minute walk from Marta's home and it was super easy to find places to eat and buy beverages. There is a small container shop across the street from the casa that has good prices on bottled water and beer. The casa is also steps from the Pink Cow, a great little restaurant serving reasonably priced cocktails, pizzas and other meals. We didn't make a reservation before going but it is recommended that you do. Overall, we had a great experience staying with Marta and would highly recommend her casa!

We spent a whole week over Christmas at the casa in the apartment with two bedrooms, a private bathroom with a shower, a kitchenette with a small gas stove and a small dining room with a fridge. There are pots, pans and plates if you need to cook, there are also glasses, cups and cutlery. If you did not take the right power converter (like it happened to us - we took just the adapter), ask Marta and she will gladly lend you one and will show you which plug to use it for. The air conditioners are a bit old but in good working order. The whole apartment was kept meticulously clean, the girl would come in every morning after we left for the beach and would clean and tidy up everything (and with two little kids we can get really messy!) so that we could enjoy ourselves and rest once we come back.
Marta is amazing - she is such a warm and welcoming hostess that she managed to make our family feel like home! Try the breakfast at the casa, might be a bit more expensive compared to what you would get at the burger place close by but everything is fresh and the coffee... it is just the best coffee I have ever tried! You can try any of the fish dishes for lunch at Marta's or you can go to the Casa de la Miel across the main street and just a few minutes walk up the street - great food, good price. The beautiful beach is just across the main street, just pass by hotel Tropical and you are there. Ask the hotel Tropical's waiter on the beach to bring you a coco drink (a coconut with a straw) - they can add to it some Cuban rum if you'd like. If you get a daily ticket for the tourist bus that goes every half an hour up the main street, you can pretty much go everywhere in Varadero (it goes all the way up to the resorts area at the other end of Varadero). Go to the supermarket using the tour bus but do not be surprised - the food choice is literally none and the prices are really high (in convertible pesos that the tourists use). If you are planning to have a day trip to Havana, ask Marta to call and organize it with Eric - he is the best guide you can ever get - you will pay only half of what everyone else would have asked, he speaks English and will take you to all the must-see places, telling you a short interesting story about every place you stop at or pass by.
Enjoy the stay - the place to be in Varadero is Marta's casa!

Just stayed at Casa Marta Margarita's Casa in Varadero and it was great! The rooms were clean, the courtyard beautiful, and Marta was very friendly and welcoming. The Casa is located a very short walk from the beautiful beach. I would highly recommend staying here.

Apsolutly amazing casa and host.
I was here few times with my wife and always feel fantastic.

Location 10/10
150 meter from the beach, very peaceful, secure,in the neighboorhoud are markets, fast foods, agencies and 30 meters from house famous restaurant Vaca Rosada,so excellent :-)

Service 10/10
Marta is amazing host ,whenever we need something she was there. Excellent breakfast, good coffe, laundry service, you can also at her son Javier order dinner (lobster, fish meat)and more then anything friendship, many times we prefer spend time with her ,then going at beach, haha
I shouldnt forget at this casa I tried best flam all over teh Cuba ,yummi :-)

Apartmants 9/10
We sleeped at all of them, they are very nice, clean ,with mini bars and tv,airconditioning, not just rooms like at most cuban casa particulares, they had private entrances.
I see somebody complain about moscitos ,there are moscitos everywhere all over the Cuba, maybe that passengers should think about having some kind of protection at Cuba is not easy for domestics to buy sprays or other things to fix this problems.I didnt have this problem as we had our own sprays.

So my opinion is that this casa is very good choice, warm, charming,it makes me feel like at home and I will spent many more hoolidays at Varadero, only at this place.
It is highly recommended!!!!
So Marta,Javier and everybody else many nice greetings from Igor & Mavy ,see you soon :-)

We stayed 2 nights at this Casa Particular and it was a refreshing break. We had a small suite to ourselves for a lower price than the room we had rented at a different case for several days on our arrival. Our suite was complete with private bathroom (shower), a kitchen, sitting room, TV?, outdoor eating area and rinse off shower. Marta and family staff were very accommodating and breakfast was very good.
