The host is very nice. Breakfast is served in a very green cute garden behind the house. This was the most "family-close" casa we stayed at. We entered through the living room of the family to enter our bedroom which was connected to a private bathroom. The other two rooms Casa de Lida offers, are located in the gareden with a seperate entry.
Our room was very simple with one double bed and a single bed.

This wasn't actually the casa we booked for our stay in Varadero but since our original casa had some issues we had been moved to this one. Anyway this little problem turned out to be an advantage to us because this casa is better located (closer to the beach). Room was very clean, the hosts very nice. We stayed only one night so we cannot say more. In any case it has been a nice experience!

The owners are very kind and available, but:
The room we had was really really dirty. The same for the bathroom. The beds were really not comfortable at all.
The position is really far from Varadero center, where you can find a lot of services, some pubs, shopping centers and a nice beach.

We did not have dinner there but the breakfast was good.
The price is absolutely high if compared to other houses in Cuba.

The photos I can see here on Trip Advisor are completely different than the room I had. Maybe other rooms are better but mine was really terrible.

Not recommendable at all. Worst house in Varadero.

- Not hot water
- Not quiet.
- If rains the roof has problems
- Bed. The worst of the worst in my entire life.

Hope someone else read this before rent this house. After I have visited a website and now I understand why they do not list this house.

Although the hosts seemed friendly and helpful, the room was not comfortable, clean or comfortable. Terrible bed, weak shower, peeling white stuff on the walls and mold. There are lots of casa's in the area that looked like they might be better. This casa no longer serves food. Coffee is about the only thing we really liked. Would not go back.

Even though the hosts are nice and the location is great (near the beach at the west-end of Varadero), we would not recommend a stay in this casa. At least not until it gets a major refurbish. The rooms are ill-maintained and dirty (dusts and stains everywhere). Also, we were woken one night by a terrible (terrible) smell which seemed to came from near the casa, and kept us from sleeping for an hour or two. Furthermore, our bed was completely worn out, and needed cardboard for extra support.

A quaint location with a lovely setting of ferns, plants, bushes and trees, almost jungle like... Now, for the bad, leaking sink with no how water tap, very unhygienic toilet with a seat that doesn't fit, paint pealing from the walls so don't happen to rub against it or your clothes will be whitewash, noise, roosters crowing at 4 a.m., and worst of all, next door neighbours dogs barking incessantly at 7 a.m. Not a pleasant experience to spend two weeks for sure, especially when you factor in the cost for bare essentials.. I will add the people are very nice and friendly, however when you are on a winter vacation, rest is a must....

We stayed in cuba in June and stayed with Lida. It was such a great place, Lida and her family became our family. Really nice and helpful people and there is also a nice garden to sit it. Also the location of the place is really good and everything is easily accessible. No matter if you want to go to the beach or shops or to the bus.
Lida also speaks English and is a big help when you need to organize something.
The rooms and also the breakfast was excellent and we really enjoyed our stay there.

When we arrived we were welcomed by Lida and Family with cold mango juice.

We stayed in two rooms, my sister had a room inside the house with private access and us in a room with a wonderful garden and patio hammock. There's a shower to use when you come back from the beach, which is just 2 blocks away.

The rooms were clean and spacious with fridge full of beers and water and private bathroom.
Breakfast was really generous for the price, fruits, croissants, bread, omelettes, juices, coffee and tea.
Best place to stay in Varadero.
Thank you Lida and family!
