We had a very nice time at The Rif and were generally treated very well during our stay. The property is new and beautiful, and we loved that it was not too crowded. We had our choice of lounge chairs anywhere we went. The open bar was very good, too, with premium liquors by request and no shortage of fun drinks from which to choose.

The service is mostly good, but this is a European island (and don't forget your electric converters!) with folks who are not accustomed to hustling for tips. Tipping can go a long way here, so pack plenty of $1s and $5s!

The nagging items were 1) the fire alarm, which sounded at 6 am and scared us all half to death, 2) the check-in process, which was miserable because the lobby is outdoors and unshaded at 4 pm, and because we were Diamond members, they felt the need to prolong our check-in process by taking us to a separate room (presumably to make us feel like VIPs, but we had been waiting in the hot lobby for longer than we had hoped to) and explaining more information than we could absorb, and 3) the absence of bottled water in our room when we arrived. Thankfully, we had brought water bottles, and we filled those frequently by the pool at the filtered water station (as we aren't fans of bottled water, anyway!).

There were a few team members who were simply outstanding and deserve kudos:

* Yannick at the front desk made me feel like a Diamond member. Twice he came to my rescue and was just exceptional. If everyone provided the level of service that Yannick exhibited, your property would have five stars across every platform. Truly delightful human being.
* Aiskha and Miangelica at the Harbor restaurant were fantastic. Aiskha is the resident matriarch who took such great care of us and demonstrated so much love and thoughtfulness. She is a gem.
* Remie, the bellhop, was truly kind and sincere with us, and he was a standout.
* At the bars on the Rif property were four exceptionally kind and vivacious bartenders who consistently brought a smile to my face: Semih, Ebudekir, Kaan, and Abdullhamit. Semih remembered my name, and Abdullhamit remembered my order. Fantastic bartenders and humans!

All in all, it was a nice experience that we enjoyed very much.

We were received at the airport and given the room details and after a short transfer we were able to eat and drink.
The rooms were large, new and fully equipped. The beds are nice and big and good mattresses.
Our 'holiday' took a nasty turn because my partner became ill on the 2nd day and ultimately had to have surgery there.
Probably because this hotel had not been 'operational' for long, I got stuck in the stiff attitude of Ella (reception). Our stay had to be extended. Coincidentally, Mr. A. Uslu was present at the resort and after his intervention this became a lot easier, especially thanks to Abigail and Yannick. Reception staff Timo, Roshenna, Tai-Rock and Tiffanie were also very involved.
About the hotel itself Yes, there are construction works, but they sincerely do everything they can to ensure that you experience as little trouble as possible. In our case it was more difficult because being sick in a room is not fun, but being sick in a room with your head above head of construction works is of a different order.
As a guest of the rif you could use the buffet restaurant (in my opinion there is still some work to be done there, especially with keeping the dishes at the right temperature.)
Con and Don BBQ restaurant: good in itself, but it's a shame that the portions of meat are so huge, especially compared to the side dishes. I saw a lot of meat (you really couldn't eat it) being thrown away.
The restaurants at the reef The Harbor, Mexican and Turkish, were TOP. Most of the staff are very friendly and helpful. To name a few that really stood out Dilliane, Esther. Unfortunately I don't have the name of everyone, but every employee of these 3 restaurants is TOP!!!

About the resort
The Corendon hotel is busy, very busy, lots of children, lots of noisy alcohol-drinking guests. You could lie down and swim quietly on the beach or in the swimming pools on the side.

The reef.
Adults only was still there when we booked (later more people with children came who had received an upgrade from Corendon) had a lovely deep swimming pool, nice sunbeds, beautiful beach with sunbeds and plenty of parasols everywhere. 2 bars, 1 by the pool and 1 by the sea.

In short, a very good hotel, not quite worthy of 5 stars, but once the renovation is complete, some 'teething problems' here and there will be resolved.
Too bad for us, we were so looking forward to this holiday, but due to the circumstances, unfortunately, we were only able to really enjoy it for 2 days.

NB apparently it is not possible to post this review on the Corendon site, so I will be informed by the customer service/Quality Control team

We got to spend a few nights here after a cancelled flight. The rooms were nice enough we spent the first night in a suite. Gorgeous room big extra area and view of the water and mangroves. You couldn’t sit on the patio due to the bugs and lack of breeze for a west facing room. The other room was a standard room again good sized. Nice breeze with an east facing room. During the whole time here lot’s of hammering and construction so don’t plan on sleeping in while in your room.

The bartenders spent a lot of time googling how to make cocktails. I only ordered and old fashioned so very straight forward. It was OK but I’m glad it was included. The other cocktails we ordered they either didn’t have the proper items or were sub standard. (See google comment on needing a recipe.)

We ate at the buffet. We tried the Mayan restaurant. No alcohol other than beer, understaffed kitchen. My carne asada was extremely tough to the point I wouldn’t eat it. My wife had octopus which was burnt on one side raw on the other. It’s a shame an animal like an octopus had to die and be served inedible. The server was running his butt off, but to no avail.

There’s a nice sign about food waste in the Buffet. Too bad as you were trying to serve yourself they were taking food 20 minutes prior to the posted closing and throwing it away. They even took a plate my wife was getting dessert from and tossed it. I guess she didn’t need it any way.

Overall they have a lot of work to do .

Workers entered my room at least twice ( to my knowledge) , despite the "do not disturb" sign on the door. One occasion a male worker entered my room at 5 am, and fortunately, my scream alerted my boyfriend, who rushed to the door after the intruder.

Upon informing the front desk about the incident, they requested a description of the worker. They called the same man to the desk, engaged in a conversation in a different language, and dismissed the issue, claiming he had misunderstood and believed it was the staff office.

The front desk staff didn't handle the matter seriously or document the incident. There's a concern that if the situation involved a white woman reporting an unannounced entry by a "black male worker," at a time when we’re sleeping it might have received more attention and consideration.

I mention this based on my observations of workers inquiring about a customer's nationality, and skin color (if they’re “blanco") before addressing their concerns.

Given our room's considerable distance from the staff office and the presence of a "DO NOT DISTURB" sign on the door, its hard to believe it was a mistake.

Later that afternoon I escalated the incident to manager Duska Dirksz who seemed empathetic and said she would report this incident and wanted to know how she could help make the remainder of the trip better. After giving it some thought I only asked to enjoy a cabana to relax on our last day and a restaurant reservation. Duska kept her promise and reserved both in advance since she would be off from work. Unfortunately the staff on duty failed me. the booked Cabana was dirty and no staff ever came to greet us or clear the towels / cups from prior guest that used the cabana or come to even offer us anything to drink the few hours we were there. Tai Rock from concierge initially said workers would be around the cabanas to service us however no one ever came despite me sending a message via WhatsApp to concierge afterwards and being assured someone would come. I asked for the bare minimum despite such a traumatizing experience and they still couldn’t deliver. An absolute waste of money and the worst decision choosing this hotel to celebrate my birthday.

Other issues I encountered included
-A power outage

-our swim up room had the view of a parking garage. However it was listed as garden view on website and initially had no pictures posted at time of booking.
I wish I could have been refunded for this rooms rate since the water was always too cold to even use it since there’s barely sun light to warm it due to the garage.

-construction at 8am

I’m mixed on this. The property itself was very nice. Everything was very clean and the location was great.

We had a major problem checking in upon arrival at 7 PM. We had to wait until 10 PM because our room wasn’t ready!! Very unacceptable. They could not provide us with an itemized bill when we checked out.

We had many problems with customer service. The workers there (and Curacao in general) are in no rush to help you. Things were not always stocked in the room. For several days they could not answer food ingredient questions in the restaurants (so we resorted to eating the same few foods). They were in no rush to serve you at the bars. There was also a loud show by the pool one night until 11 PM. The gym was sub par. There were missing mats one day, and I asked three times for them, and they never brought them back in.

For the price we paid, this was not the service we expected from Hilton.

I came to this hotel with my boyfriend to enjoy the vacation, which we were waiting for so long, however the staff at the Rif hotel made our trip absolutely HORRIBLE! Keep in mind it's not Hilton level at all!!!

The majority of the staff is quite rude, impolite, unprofessional, and ALWAYS gives you the impression that they are doing you a favor. This sensation will hit you the moment you step through the reception!

Every morning at 7:30 am they started to have a loud construction. We were not able to sleep longer, because noise was very loud.

The buffet is always crowded and offers limited selection of food. For evening restaurants you have to wait on live line at least half and hour and each time waitress forgot to bring one of my orders.

They even did not have adapters for the USA outlets.

I would strongly advise avoiding visiting this resort; out of all the places I've been, this one was the worst!

My honest opinion of the Rif is for everyone to stay far, far away. The property itself is absolutely gorgeous, but that's the only positive thing the Rif has.

There is no order at the hotel. Young adults run the hotel, and they are constantly intoxicated and at times partying in the back of the side bar louder than the guest. Room services doesn't come any time after 7pm. The bar doesn't serve regular alcohol at all, only off brand liquors thay no one has ever heard of. The staff makes you feel like you are bothering them anytime you ask for drinks or food. Room service didn't run every day.

I regret that I ever came to this hotel and will discourage all of my family and friends from visiting this resort. I wouldn't even recommend it to my worst enemy. This experience has been the worst hotel experience in my life. Stay far, far away or you regret it too.

We are currently staying here at the Rif Hotel in Curaçao, and it feels like a taste of Paradise.
We checked in 3/7/24 and have booked 2 partial ocean view rooms but got upgraded to the swim up rooms.
The check in process was pretty fast for me as a Diamond member. They have a special check in counter for diamond members. Julia checked us in and she was very friendly, helpful and professional. She accommodated all of our requests with a happy attitude, took us to the Bistro restaurant ( great food) to grab something to eat until the second rooms was ready (because we arrived early). She even made us reservations for the BBQ restaurant for the next day. Thank you Julia for all your help, you are a true representation of what great hospitality means.
Also Yannuk( hopefully I got his name right) at the front desk, was very professional and friendly and helped us when we requested to switch one of the rooms. So far all the staff we encountered here seems very friendly and happy and accommodating. It’s only day 2 and we love it so far.
Kids are in love with the water park and the pool. The beach is also pretty nice and not crowded.
We still have a lot more to explore so I will come back later with a more detailed review.

We stayed from January 23-31. This is a brand new property and there is still work being done to the upper floors but will be completed in a few weeks. The location is so convenient to Willemstad attractions. There are many restaurants—the Italian, seafood and barbecue require reservations and totally worth it. The buffets are delicious and service is on point. We were privileged to interact with Tai Rock, Head Concierge, for the two adjoining properties. He made our stay extra special. We hope to return soon. Curaçao has been discovered—-one of the top 10 destinations this year.

Due to our Hilton status at the adjoining sister property, Mangrove Beach Resort, we used some of the amenities at The RIF. We had a group of 11, with varied tastes, therefore we dined at Harbor Bistro a few nights. Food and service were excellent. Portions were good (except small burgers) and with a good variety of meats, fish, pasta, vegetarian. The beach and pool bars each had very good selection for cocktails. The pool was huge, but quiet and relaxing. Beach is smaller than the other hotel, but a smaller guest count too.
