Overall, this was a very enjoyable package, with great photo ops, comfortable accommodations (Room #6), scrumptious meals and pleasant staff. We experienced a mix of sun, rain, drizzle and fog which contributed to some diverse photographs. By the third day, we had pretty much photographed as much as we were interested in and were happy to be on our way... More

Papilotte is a quaint throwback to rainforest living of another era. It is a compact botanical reserve with its own rainfalls, pathways, naturally heated pools and exotic plants. One should be aware that the grounds are public so not for the exclusive use of guests. Our room had a large veranda with an outdoor kitchen - rustic and rudimentary by... More

The place definitely grew on me, and when it came time to leave after 3 nights, I felt a bit sad to be leaving. It is an idyllic wilderness retreat although it is not a luxury level of place (but it's not trying to be that either). Rooms are a bit worn, old wood, at best lukewarm water out of... More

Papilotte is an unusual but special place, it would not be to everyone's liking as it is quirky and individual. But this quirkiness adds to it's charm and I would not change a thing about Papilotte. The rooms were spotless and comfortable, we loved having the open area at the rear of the room to sit and watch the birds.... More

Anne Jno Baptiste has created a tropical botanical garden, hot pools near waterfalls, fabulous restaurant, comfortable rooms that are perfect for plant, rainbow, bird and butterfly watching. Surrounded by forest, near Trafalgar Falls which is perfect hike early morning or close to dusk when the tourists are gone, Papillote is a gem. The staff is kind, honest, clear, direct, and... More

Stay 5 days over Christmas and had a wonderful stay. Food was absolutely amazing. The hot pools and location was outstanding. Rooms were basic and comfortable. Owners were very hospitable. Picked fresh grapefruit from trees on property and had fresh squeezed juice everyday. Staff made arrangements for car rental. I highly recommend renting a car and explore the island. A... More

What a gem of an experience we had at Papillote! The gardens are gorgeous, extensive, and inviting. The guide, Marcel, is extremely knowledgeable and was most friendly and helpful. The food was fantastic and the conveniences of being able to soak in the hot spring pools and sit and watch the birds were just lovely!

My wife and I spent five wonderful days at Papillote Wilderness Retreat in Dominica. We stayed in one of their suites, with a lovely view of the rainforest-covered mountains. We could enjoy the lush scenery from the couch on the deck or from inside the room on our bed. The main bedroom is large and nicely furnished with wooden furniture.... More

surrounded by natural beauty, the Papillote highlights for us included hot and cold stream_fed, mineral outdoor pools, great home-cooked meals (the provisions were tasty), and beautiful gardens featuring a wide variety of indigineous plants (we enjoyed the garden tour). the quiet seclusion was rejuvenating.

We stayed in a suite shortly before Christmas. This seems to be a slack period so the dinner menu was limited to a choice of 2 main dishes. The food was fine; not gourmet, but perfectly edible. The room itself was clean and simply decorated although the bathroom was a bit 'weary'. The hot water in the shower is straight... More
