This hotel is in the perfect location right in the middle of the Zona colonia. We paid to upgrade to a king suite with a balcony. This is an essential if your staying in this hotel as the view makes up for everything. The view from the balcony was spectacular facing the city hall and right on the main square. The room was clean and comfortable however few small issues. The rooms have very thin walls so we could hear even the television from the neighbouring room. Some banging/construction work early morning so noisy. Lack of a kettle for tea/coffee no cups or glasses and no shower gel only small soaps. hotel has a beautiful cafe downstairs. Staff was friendly, Nori at reception was lovely and the location is probably one of the best in the entire zone. Hotel is just at the start of the main shopping street and easy walk around the zona colonia, small train at the end of the street takes you around if you don’t want to walk.…
Nice and clean hotel with friendly staff, located very centrally, fast WiFi. Only downside is that it can be a bit loud and smoky on the balconies (it’s right next to cigar shop where people are smoking outside).
Really loved this hotel. The location is right in the thick of Colonial Zone activity. Room 404 has the balcony directly under the hotel sign and thus winds up in everyone’s pictures. Best view for observing all the activity. Hotel decor is quite lovely, room was roomy, comfy bed and nice linens. Modern shower, good pressure, rainfall style. The parque is on one side and the Calle Conde straight ahead. We didn’t eat in the restaurant due to the reviews - we ate great for pennies at Chicken’s Grill and Super Chips just down the Calle. The street performers hang out within view of the balcony and they are fun to watch. There are a few sketchy characters after your $ and when you get tired of chasing them off, you can go to your balcony to observe from a distance. Definitely spring for a balcony room. Oh and there are wild parrots! Listen for their loud call and look up to see their bright colors! Complaint: I booked a month in advance, 2 rooms for my family of 5, using booking.com. I filled out all the info including their ages, 4 adults and one 13yo, and I received the price. Upon arrival, I was told the price was wrong because the 13yo was considered an adult and I’d only paid for 4 adults. I paid what the website told me to pay and I don’t like feeling forced to pay extra. It was scammy. Don’t do that. Make sure all your online tools have the correct pricing you want, then honor your price or it ticks off your customers. This hotel doesn’t have free breakfast included so why does it matter if he’s 13 or 5? Even with this unpleasantness, we still loved the hotel.…
Nice property located in the colonial district of Santo Domingo. Property has been renovated and still provides a clean inviting atmosphere. Friendly staff ready to assist in all your needs. Highly recommend
Small room was perfect for two people. Clean room and bathroom. There was some construction going on the ground floor, so the check-in desk was on the second floor and our room on the 3rd floor. This hotel is RIGHT on the public square; when you eat breakfast downstairs, you're in full view of the church and vendors. Perfect walking distance to all the local shops and markets.
